And the armour they wear would be compatible to a tank. Lorewise the emperour is a god and space marines are like angels to normal people. I'm pretty sure the power armour works a little differently in WH40K compared to Fallout. In Fallout, the power armour serves as a way to wield heavy tank weaponry on a mobile unit but sacrifices the durability of the tank. In WH40K, power armour serves more as a space suit, with features like waste recycling and HUDs to aid a Space Marine in and out of combat, and to shield them from certain types of weaponry. My knowledge is limited so further research is recommended.

Well. When the guy who created the Imperium gets interred into a golden chair of life-support because he almost died killing his eldest and most powerful son... And then the sons who remained loyal kind of have to wing it, with Roboute Guilliman being the only dude with a level enough head to be able to establish some semblance of order in the ensuing chaos after the Horus Heresy. And even then, the Sons bickered with each other because none of them agreed on how to proceed forward. Then you have the fact that humanity is beholding these dudes who practically portraying themselves as forms of gods, demi-gods, and divine beings in the flesh... Yeah, for an Emperor who wanted an age of reason and logic, he can't exactly argue with the fact that the simplicity in the Cult of the Imperium is what helps keep everything relatively intact. Even if it is stagnate. But it was, after all, the Horus Heresy that ruptured the progress and up-ended the entire thing, turning the Imperium from a progressively advancing species, into a regressive, stagnate, war mongering species... Then again, they're only following the example that the Emperor established with the Great Crusade...

If it puts it into perspective, basically imagine a Space Marine is like a Halo Spartan, just their strength and durability goes up the same rate as their size, because that armor is relatively form fitting. They also have 2 hearts and 3 lungs so they can properly function endlessly without having to rest, more or less. Also, those studs on their heads are basically service stars, each one is added for every 100 years of service. "Well, only 3 of us survived out of like the 20 we had" Hot damn, shooting for the moon with those numbers, good job on that one! No, really, that kind of loss percentage is excessively high for Guardsmen on average.

Primaris Marines have an extra 3 genetic modifications compared to their previous contemporary Marines (like Titus was before hand, and in the first game). All Space Marines go through an unaugmented human's lifetime worth of training, regimentation, indoctrination, and medical surgeries. The attrition rate, depending on the Marine Chapter, can either be immensely high, or moderately manageable. Either way, its not irregular to lose vast batches of new recruits. The hardest part of becoming a Space Marine isn't any of the learning and adaptation or application. The hardest part is receiving the organic augmentations, and hopefully those organic modifications don't get rejected by the host body and end up killing them... Horribly. After successful completion of their training, they are novitiates that endure and undeclared amount of time as Scout Marines (as per the Codex). As their name implies, they're not specifically meant for direct action, but they can hold their own, especially if equipped properly. A Marine, like Titus, will have performed a number of various roles, which would have garnered him the rank of Captain of the 2nd Company. The four gold studs on Titus' forehead, above his right eye, indicates 150 years of service as Adeptus Astartes. Marneus Calgar (the Chapter Master of the Ultramarines, Titus' home chapter), is almost double, possibly triple that length of time (its incredibly rare to see Space Marines make it to 200 years. And the backpack on each Marine's back is a miniature nuclear powered reactor (thus the heat vents at the top left and right corners). But should the pack be removed, a Marine is well known to be able to move the armor under his own strength, though with more noticeable difficulty than if his power pack remained intact. Additionally, with that neurolink, via the helmet, each Marine contains a Heads Up Display in their visors, and are able to perform cross channel traffic, weapons targeting, friend and foe identifiers, objectives display, and various optics capabilities (like NVG's, Infrared, FLIR, etc.) The weaponry that a typical fireteam Marine will carry is a Bolter Rifle chambered in .75 caliber mass reactive high explosive munitions. Each Marine is essentially carrying an autocannon in their hands. While their Fire Support Heavy Weapons Squads will carry the actual Autocannon, alongside a missile launcher firing Frag and Krak (AT) missiles, Heavy Bolter (belt fed .75 Caliber machine gun), or a Lascannon (what the Guardsmen are firing, but big). And that's just typical everyday Marines. We're not even talking the other various aspects of a Company (100 battle brothers) that carry a wide assortment of weapons, and various support options, depending on which Company is deployed. Ultimately, the vanilla Space Marine (not including any of the bells and whistles), is potentially a one man army. A lone Space Marine can perform more damage and destruction than the full might of an entire Imperial Guard Regiment. A company of Space Marines (again, just 100 dudes), can contend with a planetary problem of most sorts, and if necessary, can expand the scope and support necessities based on the severity of the planetary issue. For example, well over 20 different Space Marine chapters had deployed 1 or more companies of their Marines to the planet Armageddon on 3 separate occasions, in order to thwart an Ork invasion, a Chaos invasion, and then an Ork invasion that was then sidelined due to a Chaos invasion while the conflict raged... And, as per lore, still rages, but not as horribly as previous Editions which saw the planet a wasteland of constant warfare.

Fun Fact: All tyranid(the bugs) weapons and equipment such as swords, guns, ships etc, are all organic. Which basically means those guns they're using are alive as well as the bullets being fired by them let that sink in for a minute 😊

Fallout power armor was based on Space Marine armor and is paper in comparison. A Space Marine is full on sprinting tank with a battery pack strapped to their back and their weakest weapon, the bolt pistol, shoots rocket propelled grenades for ammo. Space Marines have extra organs to support their massive size and muscles their boots have magnets for Zero G fighting as well
