Thank you for making the video, I’m booked to go last week of July, I’m in a wheelchair so I was looking out for the pool hoist (chair that lowers you in and out of the pool)

There’s also a ramp down to the gate onto the promenade and I saw wheelchair users on there so I am sure you will have a great time.😁 I think you can see the pool hoist at 06:33 to the left if you pause it at the main pool? Sorry I will make sure to include that info on future videos.

Thanks for this video. It was really useful before going. Just to let you know, the glow in the dark picture above the bed actually is controlled by a light switch just above the bedside table 😂 you can just turn it off! Although admittedly, I discovered this by accident!

Just spent a week there. Absolutely brilliant hotel. Couldnt find any negatives. As someone said earlier all the staff are fantastic from Reception, Bar staff right through to the cleaners. Exceptional place

Excellent review. I’ve stayed twice at this Hotel and will be going again. I agree with all your comments stated in your review, apart from the Prestige pool being warm, it was freezing on both my visits. The Hotel is excellent with very little wrong in my opinion.

Glad you agreed with most of it Russell. Yes I would also love to return. I never go in cold pools, only really hot ones so didn’t go in, but my kids and wife did and I was told it was warmer than the main pool. Maybe they started heating it more? Thanks for watching!

Hi Beth- not sure about that one to be honest, but given its a large chain (now part of IHG hotels ) I think it will be a fairly safe bet compared to independents.

Very informative video. Does Abilene know how good is the food in comparison to other hotels in Playa Blanca. Only thing I would say is that Prestige doesn’t seem worth it.

Thanks for watching and your comment. The food is extremely good, it is a top end buffet, better even than, say Anthelia. But it doesn’t have a table service restaurant which would be nice. Star Prestige isn’t really worth it for the food alone as it isn’t much different , but depending on price you pay it is worth it for the quiet pool (which is really nice, and makes the holiday IMO) and the quiet restaurant. We were sceptical we would like those areas but even my kids say they thought it was very nice to be in there, the pool area in particular and with the massive hot tub etc. Another advantage of Star Prestige is if you are not all inclusive you can drink for free until 6pm.

I should have filmed the outside, it looked like quite a big area, tucked around the far side of the kids pool. The lady running it was very nice as I was talking to her, and she played the ‘Bearded lady’ in the Greatest Showman show😂

They want tourists it is how most earn a living. Don’t worry about that it is a few minority, and in fact their beef is with Air BNB etc, not people in hotels, it is being hyped up by the papers into something it isn’t. Grim seems an unusual take- It’s a nice hotel, I’ve stayed in many of them in Playa Blanca (Natura, Castillo, Volcan, Princess, Sandos etc ) and it’s definitely one of the best, not perfect though. The only one I’ve found that is clearly better (and costs twice the amount) is Yaiza. The style of the hotel is fairly simple, Caesar Manrique designed it so that’s the style. Very good hotel and very highly rated generally by the public. Also the boss of Iberostar goes annually as he likes it so much. It’s just a good hotel. A ‘5 Star’ anywhere in the Canaries / Spain isn’t 5 Star by say Caribbean or U.S. standard. The Anthelia is very nice in Tenerife (see my video on that, that’s perhaps the best AI in Spain). For a real 5 star, see my video recently posted on Rixos Abu Dhabi, that should hit the mark for you.

Interesting- I’ve stayed in most of them and find this one of the best (at least all inclusive I think it’s the best). Princess Yaiza is better but much more expensive and not AI. Natura Palace is nice but again not AI. I’ve stayed in Dreams Castillo (or whatever it’s called now I forget) , Rubicon, Sandos, Princess etc and found this the best personally. Hi Lucy, trousers are not necessary but as we were in the Star Prestige bit, no one was wearing shorts in there on a night (I did first night though and you can) and surprisingly few in the main restaurant either. It was not that warm on an evening though so I didn’t mind wearing the trousers and felt more comfortable in them for sitting outside etc. If it had been very warm on a night I suspect more would have been in shorts. Enjoy you will have a nice time, it is a great hotel with nice atmosphere and excellent staff 👍

I did wear them but you don’t have to. Most seemed to be, but it wasn’t that warm on an evening and more may be wearing shorts when it’s warmer. Have a great time, lovely hotel.
