Wakfu is a french Cartoon and video game franchaise that is very popular and beloved. It is very anime influenced, with characters like Yugo, Princess Amalia Sheran Sharm, Sir Percedal of Sadlygrove (or Dally), Rubilax, Evangelyne, Ruel Stroud, Adamaï, etc. We at Spilling The Milk watched season 1, but there is also season 2, season 3 and the soon to come season 4! There is a wakfu time skip at some point but I am unsure how it goes.

Jokes aside though, I hate to break this to you, my dudes, but the "child soldier" and "child protagonist facing mortal danger" tropes have been a part of storytelling dating back to ancient times across multiple cultures' mythologies. Children just historically tend to often resonate with characters facing perilous journeys when said characters are kids like them. Regardless of whether one believes it's ethical, the inarguable fact is that it generally works to help sell stories. It comes down to what's good for business. Unless that changes (unlikely), such tropes are not going away anytime soon.

This is such a long video for an obvious bait. Spilling the Milk is known for making fun of every cartoon show that exists for no apparent reason. And they have the nerve to say "Please don't get too salty about our anime opinions." in their channel description, when they will be eventually called out on their bullshit opinions about shows that they never seen. And in this case, they even compared a flash-made animation series called Wakfu (the show that is being talked on the video) to Berserk anime show. Like, Wakfu isn't that bad of a show and it was considered the best animated series on it's golden age and yet these idiots dared to compare a show to another in which there was no comparison. And they focus on the superficial part of the series instead of the plot.
