Yes..Sophia is pure Filipina😊 start singing at the age of 3. Her mother is also a singer/actress and a theater artist. Love this group too and they are friends with our boys SB19😊 they invited them to visit their performance here in Manila about 2 weeks ago & gave them a copy of their newest album with the sign of each member. Then they had a collab in Tiktok & Instagram. They danced Gento & Touch😊

Daniela grew up in the US but she’s very in touch with her LatAm culture. Spanish is her first language cuz her parents raised her in a Spanish-speaking household. She did say she’s more in touch with her Cuban side tho and apparently she’s got a heavy Cuban accent. Both of her parents are latin ballroom dancers and Daniela also started out as a latin ballroom dancer. She spent a lot of her childhood summers in the Dominican Republic.

Lara is probably Hybe's best vocalist in terms of pure skill (low bar to clear but she's all that) Daniela is possibly Hybe's best dancer (and easily the best ballroom dancer in Kpop) The group's harmonies are going to rival 4th gen baddies like NMixx and even Bini's from down in the Philippines. Speaking of 'Pinas, Sophia's background is in musical theater. She finished at the top of the survival show because after the first week of voting she finished 2nd and the Filipinos thought that was unacceptable and only insisted she would have close to 2x the amount of most other candidates' votes from then on lol. She's all that too.

Katseye is honestly my favorite Pop Grouo I’ve seen. There are other Pop groups I’ve seen but they’ve caught my eye. Love them. Also they are under Hybe and Greffen Records. Greffen is the same company Olivia Rodrigo and Camila Cabello is in.

their boba interview for netflix was fun and gave you some more insight into who they are individually. I also like the fact they all love music but have diverse backgrounds not just ethnically but also musically. In Katseye, you've got Sophia (musical theatre girl), Daniela (ballroom girl), Lara (DJ/producer girl), Yoonchae (Kpop girl), Manon (Model/Singer-Songwriter girl), and Megan (American Hip-Hop girl). Honorable mention to Lara's vocals which you can tell are influenced by classical Indian singing style. In a way, they kind of cover a lot of the music you guys cover on your channel lol

Sophia was ranked 1 during the survival show, she was basically dubbed as "Sophia the First", coz she was ranked 1 in fanvotes chosen by 62 countries out of 162 countries that voted in, was a judges fave and was no.1 chosen by her co competitors to debut with. During the survival show SB19 show support to Sophia, he call them Kuya (older brother), she even dance Gento back then that's why it's kinda full circle that when they met again she dance again the Gento with SB19 as now a member of Katseye. She has a theatre background , since her mom also is a famous theatre actress in the philippines who had perform in Miss Saigon. They (KATSEYE) also perform in KCON LA, where they gain a lot of fans there seeing it was their first time performing w/ a live audience but they killed the performance. Katseye is a really diverse group coming from different countries sharing different cultures. Aside from their music, they are individually eye catching like they are frontrunners in their own right. The fact they were in a survival show shows the level of professionalism they have, non fans even say like everytime they perform it's like they are in a brink of elimination. If you watch the documentary you can see the dark sides of the music industry, the docu was very raw, these girls are just young kids who came from different countries and walks of life to come to LA and leave everything behind just to pursue their dream. One thing i love about them is their sisterhood, you could see how they care about each other and how they are very humble and thankful with what they are experiencing right now. The company wanted to make the K out of KPOP and make it global. They were trained using KPOP methodologies. I just hate the fact that the company lied to them and turn it into a survival show. As much as I hate the documentary on how it was made i guess it serves its purpose a lot of non kpop fans tune in and even A-list hollywood celebrities and singers are dancing to their song touch. Another thing is that even though they are a part of Hybe, unlike kpop artists where they are mostly controlled, these girls kinda have more freedom especially if you check their tiktok accounts they are so funny and chaotic like the way they promote their EP album is so funny. I just hope the company promotes them right they really have a gem in their hands they could really be the next big thing. I hope they could showcase their vocals more coz they are really talented and giving them songs which not only are just 2mins long and does not show their vocals makes me mad at the company. little correction… not all of them lived in america before the survival show. only lara, daniela and megan did. the rest moved to america for dream academy/popstar academy. yoonchae was actually training to be a kpop idol in korea before she got scouted for the survival show. also daniela was on americas got talent and so you think you can dance when she was a kid. lots of people consider her as the best dancer from hybe. people also consider lara the best vocalist.
