I just started using that Loctite 567, to seal all of my metal to metal pipe threads. So far I like it. The applicator is better than a brush it doesn't end up spreading everywhere like regular pipe dope. It can't be used with plastic or with Teflon tape. It needs the interaction with the metal to cure. It doesn't cure the same way leak-lock does, not supposed to get hard like it either.

I’ve have good luck with it. I believe we started using it on the flare nuts threads on mini splits to keep them from coming loose from vibration. I’ve used it on everything like you said for Metal to Metal. I did not know that about the plastic. I will remember that for later.

I once got 3 bad rebuilt 7.5 hp copeland semis in a row on a 12' upright freezer case. The first two had defective internal overload protectors and the third one was an oil pumper. The fourth one worked. Had to work about 24 hours straight on that job. Lucky I had the xtra-man hoist and my older brother was helping me that day.

AWESOME VIDEO! I remember working on some ancient Trenton Kramer condensers that the customer actually wanted repaired. Love the hoist for moving the compressor about! I'm a bit old school so use a chain block instead. Bet the suction reed valves have a wear ridge where they should seal on the valve plate. A lot of those style compressors don't have piston rings, just cast piston with three grooves in.
@HVACRSurvival
