Did you say Ridgewood? OMG I have a horrible childhood memory from there. In the 80’s Ridgewood was super racist. The men from the neighborhood got together and threatened the landlord of the building we lived in. They came into her laundry at on the 1st fl and to her office to threaten her and say they knew where her daughter went to school. They wanted her to get us out the neighborhood. She rented to my brother’s wife who was Italian but the rest of us were black and she didnt know until after we moved in. We moved for our safety and sued her and the funeral home owner who initiated the threat. I was 17 at the time
