The Fenix 7 can just find a route for you on the fly after entering how many km's you wish to do....it'll bring you back to you starting point in a loop ☺️

Enjoyed your video. Thank you both for creating it. A tip for Fenix/Epix users, if you should find your saved course starts in the opposite direction, then recalibrate your compass. I use the Garmin Epix 2, which is an upgrade to my Garmin Fenix 6x Pro. The Epix battery life is sufficient for my hiking needs, gesture mode on.

Carl, thanks for this. Hoping to get a 'walk and talk' done on the Epix in the next month. Got one on my wrist now to start getting to grips with it. Interested to get out this weekend and start understanding the battery life when navigating with it. Thanks for the tip on calibrating the compass!

Very practical and useful video, thank you. Ordered a Fenix 7x just waiting for delivery can't wait to use the map as I've got a Forerunner 935 which doesn't have maps and I got fed up with taking wrong paths trying to follow the snake on a screen.

Ive got the 7x also had the 5 and 6 and i use it as my daily work watch as a joiner as you can not destroy this watch. . Ive never used it for navigation as i bought the 67i from you. Ill try it but im coming up for a 1 to 1 on the gps can i have help getting my watch set up while im there ? Dave

Dave, thanks for your support. The trainer for your 1:1 should have/ will be emailing you ahead of the 1:1. Please just let them know in taht email what you are wanting to cover and this can be covered. I hope this helps.

Mattie - two very different watches. Both will give you all the stats you need, but the Fenix 7 is a far more premium product, especially for the hiking as you have a map on the Fenix 7, this may help - kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6Sug32ZhNSrZ7s

If I am in a tent with no internet connection or phone signal can I plan a route on a 66 and transfer it to a Fenix using the apps on an iPhone even if the phone has nothing but a Bluetooth connection to the watch an 66. It would make an interesting video

Yes, you can transfer from the connect app (on a phone) to your GPS without internet connection as it uses bluetooth. I hope this helps.

@@kristaps2010 Sadly you can't transfer from a GPS Unit directly to a watch and the other way.

Sorry for the delay in coming back to you. I have a 18cm wrist (not the largest), personally I think the 7x looks too large on my smaller wrist. I hope this helps.

Sadly you can't put the OS maps on the screen of any Garmin GPS watch, hence the reason I first plan on OS and overlay on the built in TOPO ACTIVE maps. I hope this helps.

@@ImPewPew4 i cancelled my order and bought a used fenix 5x pro. The maps is brilliant. But i havent tried it for hiking. The gps is accurate when i run i my neighborhood. I believe withe glonass in the fenix 7 will be more accurate.
