I watch the closet historian as well, listening to her adjust patterns is like listening to string theory, but she pulls it all together in the end.....

So far, so good. A tip that learned from Threads magazine for the next time you have neckline gape. Pinch up the shoulder seam. Most people don't think of that because they expect their shoulders to have the same slope as the pattern. But that's not always the case. So give it a try. Now to watch part 2.

Tracing patterns is something I do too! But I save printable patterns for reprinting if I need to, so I don't tend to trace those.

16:25 I am new to sewing from patterns and wonder if you had scooped the curve lower at the top curve for under the arm and just extended it with a shallower curve to keep your width of the waist band part, would that have resolved the various issues from back and front?
@leechowning2712 Жыл бұрын
I have to wonder if the issues you had with the back was a side effect of it originally being for a slightly taller person, since you commented the skirt was longer than you needed, and the taking out length needed to be more universal. But it does turn out pretty once you got it adjusted. Loved your little helper... mine is still not sure what she thinks of me not paying all the attention to her.

Part 2 came up for me with a cats butt in my face 🤣. So I came back to part one as I usually like to see from the beginning! Your pattern alterations went well I thought 👍 On to part two. Tfs 💖🇨🇦

Hey there. Stumbled across your channel. To make the back pattern fit better, I would suggest the slash and spread like The Closet Historian does rather than adding to the end. This makes the underarm fit better also. Well done!!

While the old patterns only had one size, the size always fit. The new patterns always need major adjustment.

Your supervisor is doing a Kitty yoga session to relieve the tension. Kitty yoga is closely related to kitty kung fu it’s sometimes hard to recognize. Especially when you’re tense 😬 your supervisor is attempting to get you to take your mandatory break. The supervisor has forgotten how different the rules are for human vs kitty.

I was watching your video and realized that I need this type of tracing paper, would you be so kind and share where you got it from and what the dimensions of the paper is
@TheMayu Жыл бұрын
It’s 24” wide and some type of tracing paper, I’m not sure where it’s from though! I bought it from someone selling a bunch of sewing stuff and this roll of paper was part of it. Probably from an art store or craft store

Thank you! I got the paper from someone selling a bunch of used sewing stuff so I don’t actually know what it is. It’s a roll of some type of thin tracing paper!

How did you print the pattern? Did you use a specific program?
@TheMayu2 жыл бұрын
The pattern from Stephanie Canada had a print from home option (pdf)
