Only you could make a 22min video of walking in silence interesting!! Loved the peacefulness of this video and so many lovely scenes! Awesome job mate!!

This is wonderful. Nice touch to let the music/images speak for themselves. I grew up in Berkeley, near the Severn and we often used to swim in the Gloucester-Berkeley Ship Canal, which runs parallel to the Severn, near Sharpness and we'd invariably, tide depending, climb over the wall and play in the mud and the Severn, itself. However, I've not explored the Severn much above Frampton, where my sister used to live, apart from a brief work stint in Worcester. The part you explored seems much more idyllic! 😉😉

Wild Heart Thanks, I’ve had mixed feedback on the quiet background music, I like it but I was unsure about it and if I make another I’m unsure what I’ll do. That sounds like a great place to grow up! The Severn is great, rivers in general fascinate me actually, they’ve always been so important in our lives, less so now but in history. This section in particular is beautiful, but I found that the few miles out of Bewdley in particular were especially great. Quiet. Wild. Serene at times. The Severn Valley Railway almost follows this route, it’s out of service just now but that is a great day out too.

@@chrishomer It was a great place to grow up, always plenty to do, although both Berkeley and Sharpness are a bit like ghost towns nowadays. Very few shops and pubs etc. And the Docks are gone in Sharpness as is the Nuclear Power Station in Berkeley, both of which were major employers. I often drive round there when visiting family to reminisce! 😉 For me, the music was fine: there, but unobtrusive 😉👍

I love a good trundle but 20 mi in a day!! I'm knackered just watching mate! My laziness aside, stunning video fella. Great balance of you, the Severn, the route and most importantly, the wildlife. Also extremely intrigued by the subtle yet poignant soundscape underlying the video. Awesome video bud.

Awesome awesome video. Love the serenity. Quietness is needed in our lives. Not a word spoken. Creative my brother, just sublime....you really put your heart (and soles of your feet) into this one. I do about 2miles a day on my treadmill and that's exhausting enough, but 20 miles 😭. Just love this trail....is it all public access or did you have to get permissions from some estates? This reminds me of that line in Don McCleans classic from 1970...American Pie, ...not a word was spoken, all the church bells we're broken 😁

Kevin Clements 😁 Thanks mate, I needed to make this. Felt great! Sore the next day but worth it. Not too sure about the land, it’s a public right of way though. Luckily for us our countryside is full of them, old laws going back hundreds of years that pretty much allow you to go almost.... anywhere. It’s also why our roads are such a tangled mess 🤣. Go on then Kevin, honest feedback... music or no music? I’ve got another similar video coming soon, much shorter with no music. If I make any more I’m not sure which I like best. Music or not?

@@chrishomer I think you need to go by gut feeling when editing. What is the story telling you? Could be music all the way, none of the way or just in bits of it. Pre-planning can take creativity away, and make it stiff & forced. Make it trying to be artsy-fartsy for artsy-fartsies sake. I hope that wasn't too honest. But I'll tell you this one should be in a short film award category. It's very obvious you put a lot of your creative genius into crafting this.

Absolutely fantastic Chris 👍. It's a beautiful stretch of the Severn and that's a fair old hike for one day. I know it quite well and it brought back lots of happy memories. Thank you. Hoping to take the packraft down from Bridgnorth to Bewdley as soon as we get the chance to do what we all love doing again. Take care. Atb, J 🍻👍.

Yeah it was a bit much for me. I had chub rub for days!!! Kayaked Bridgnorth to Bewdley quite a few times myself, one of my favourite little trips. Do it every year.
@SandybackOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
@@chrishomer Ha ha chub rub. Not surprised. Some really nice pubs along that stretch of the river too. Probably sampled a pint or two in most of them over the years. Hope that you and the family have a great New Year Chris 🛶👍.

Very good Chris. Different for you - there must have been inspiration from something or someone to go off on such a tangent. I felt relaxed during large parts of it. The editing and videography was great. Oh, how I long for the gear. 20 miles was a good stretch of a glorious river. Enough variety of nature and splendid views to last a good while. Well done. Mark

Thanks. I’d forgotten about this video. What a great part of the world that is! This was the kind of first little dip into making something like this. I’ve since been back down this stretch and filmed my yearly kayak trip from Bridgnorth to Bewdley, I’ve filmed this twice I love it so much. Not sure I’ll be walking it again though. I remember the aftermath from this only too well. My chub rub was sore for days. Too much info 🤣 Want some advice? Go the other way. It’s down hill! 😀 Enjoy. And thanks
