Alex Coreable Once you get used to walking through the station like if you have work near shinjuku then you won’t have any trouble with finding your way
@andreytupkalo69865 жыл бұрын
@@daten__ The station is physically immense by itself. Even if you know your way, just traversing it end-to-end might take 15 minutes alone, so it all depends on where you're going to and from. For example, the N'Ex platforms are really inconveniently placed, and it takes about 10 minutes walk to reach the West Exit with the luggage.

Brings back fond memories of when I did study abroad at Waseda. I lived in a dorm in Takadanobaba and went to Shinjuku every day after class. A 20-year-old single guy with no job, no responsibilities, a wallet full of scholarship money and a lot of free time in the middle of Tokyo. What could go wrong?

Makes me want to cry :'( The cleanliness is out of this earth. No trash, no plastic food containers or cups, and no cigarette butts and only one small piece of paper that looks like it accidentally fell from someone. People are queuing on platforms and everything is just lovely. Makes London look like a jungle in comparison!!
@stevenkj85716 жыл бұрын
Mauser oh man, don't worry, just come to Mexico and you will see what is a real jungle. :'c
@Saroku10006 жыл бұрын
Tokyo is a jungle in terms of design. There are many places where you have tp think in multile 3d layers. Want to cpuntinue going along this road? Walking straight doesnt work because in front of you suddenly is the beginning of the subway. You need to find stairs that will lift you up. Basically the street ends and in front of you begins the subway underground on the same level. The street is suddenly 20m above.
@mountainous_port6 жыл бұрын
London maybe better decades ago. And will be far worse in the near future. Notice how in Japan everyone is Japanese?
@Amorkoko12184 жыл бұрын
Shinjuku Station seems dirty to most of Japanese still since other stations especially in rural are cleaner.
@嘉然今天吃战斧牛-u1h4 жыл бұрын
London's underground system is kind of hysteretic, a lot of broken bricks and shabby construction, out of order ticket machine, information guide is like a disaster which is extremely unfriendly for the tralvers to find the right direction. A lot of information is unclear and messy.....Lastly, there is no signal in the subway.

I'd traveled around Tokyo and found that most out-skirt towns started here in Shinjuku: Yokohama, Kamakura, Otski and many more. It's very easy to be lost at this station, but one suggestion may help is to memorized your exit; for example the new south gate the east wing gate and so forth.

11:40 I would often be found at the _Fare Adjustment Machine_, lowering my ticket price to an amount *I* deem acceptable. Lovely video as always, so many little things to notice.
@starskunk4 жыл бұрын
For those who aren't aware, here's what the Fare Adjustment Machine is for - In Tokyo, you pay by distance for using most trains, even the subways. If you get a ticket and get on a train, but the ticket value isn't enough for the station you end up at, the ticket gates will not let you out of the station when you insert your ticket to leave. You go to the adjustment machine, insert your ticket, then put in enough money to make up the difference between your ticket value and the cost of your trip. It will then print a new ticket with the proper value that you can put in the exit gate to leave :)

There are 12 lines running at Shinjuku Station. There are 9 ticket gates and 64 exits at the station. Japanese people call Shinjuku station a labyrinth. It is also called the Sagrada Familia because it has been undergoing renovation work for a long time.

are air really that bad or why do some use protective masks and others dont?
@TokyoStreetView6 жыл бұрын
1. Allergies 2. If you are sick you wear this mask to avoid spread what make you sick 3. Avoid being sick (just in case) 4. Winter is very dry and wearing mask help keeping humidity from your breath. And nope, the Air in Tokyo is cleaner than in Paris (I am French BTW) or Hong Kong (Used to live there too), especially in winter since we have a lot of wind blowing up away most of the pollution away.
