In the lower Manhattan (where the wealth is) the Chamber of Commerce pays for private companies to keep the streets and sidewalks clean. Then again if people didn't throw and drop garbage it wouldn't look so bad.

One of the problems is....no one cares enough about this neighborhood to even be clean....poor and dirty just seem to go together for most people.....it's the lazy mentality....and the I don't care attitude. I would never want to live in this neighborhood. If everyone worked together they could make this a really cute area.....each person using their gifts and talents....and paint murals....and have open air cafe's with plants and cute furniture. I can just picture it now....

You look at one section of a neighborhood of a high concentration of a certain demographic group of people, you believe it is a indicative of a whole country. It is more complex than that, there are areas that are integrated, semi-integrated and non-integrated. Plus there are many ethnic enclaves in Canada's largest cities.
@GeorgeSquare
@GeorgeSquare 7 жыл бұрын
and blacks in Africa rounded their fellow blacks up, made contact with the ships captains and sold their fellow men off to the highest bidders. It's not really the white man problem especially since the first documented slave owner was a black man too. It was just terrible times all round. I'm glad we've moved on but multiculturism doesn't work either. Look at Europe just now, black Lifes matter and the rise of the far right too.

They still have phone booths!. A what year was this?. They called this Gentrification?, Really?. This look the same to me as the last time I was in Harlem on that same Exact block in the 1970s, Where is the difference from yesterday to today.

Gentrification started in residential parts of Harlem before it hit the commercial parts. Look at it now, you'll see a difference.
