I walk on 5th Avenue between 40th Street to 59th Street, where I enter Central Park and walk to the Gapstow Bridge. This stretch of 5th Avenue is famous for its many retail stores, Rockefeller Center, & St. Patrick's Cathedral.
Correction : At 4:42 Grand Central Terminal was designed by Warren & Wetmore / Reed & Stem, not McKim, Meade, & White.

Empire State building was completed during the height of great depression. No wonder it remained empty for years plus the tallest building in the world especially after WW2 destroyed half the world. Similar to how Burj Khalifa will hold on to it's title now for decades to come with countries like China banning skyscrapers beyond a certain height and middle East slowing down in aimless construction.

No problem! You are doing a great job with the history. The Centrsl Park pond at 59th is where the famous colorful Mandarin Duck swam around in @ 2019!😊 He had his own Twitter account!!😅

The 4, 5 & 6 stop on East 59th and Lexington and short walk to fifth Avenue. Also the 6 to East 56th street another convenient way to get to Fifth Avenue. Closer to Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. Thanks for this NYC stroll. I miss midtown.

Great tip! The Subway stations along the 6th Avenue lines are closer, but 5th Avenue is not too far from the Lexington Avenue line too. The 6 train station has exits at 50th, 51st, 52nd, and 53rd Streets.

Interesting fact about the Empire State Building. A B-25 bomber crashed into the building between the 78th and 80th floors in July 1945 due to heavy fog without damaging the integrity of the building. It did cause $1,000,000 in damage and deaths of 14 people (3 on the plane, 11 on the ground). Despite the damage from the impact and resulting fire, most of the building was open again 48 hours later.

Love the narration. This is why I love New York, the architecture. ESB, 30 Rock and the Chrysler buildings are three of the most gorgeous buildings ever made, IMO. And St. Patrick Cathedral? Just stunning.

Lyft and Uber have raised prices but not raised driver's pay. Your question as to why they got expensive is that your Uber rides are previously subsidized by VC funding and now they need to be profitable or at least stop the bleeding the pricing now reflects the true cost of Uber. I would say people who are into these apps ought to get used to it, or like you said, walk.

I see your finally adding history comments on locations which makes your videos more interesting. Instead of just simply talking about name brand restaurants n boutique stores n city noise etc which I found boring. U have learnt something from Tom Delgado a NYC tour guide n history buff which makes his tours n KZbin video's very interesting n informative.

Action Kid don't get me wrong I like that you start n end your video's at time with the subway. U give daily tours of the city which are great I'm from East Harlem 106st n Park those Carver projects now living in Toronto so it's good to see daily video's of back home you do. I wish when u ride up Madison Ave to 106 street u turn right going to Park Ave so I can see the Carver projects I grew up in. Otherwise u do a great job on your scooter n car during the day but at night on a scooter can be dangerous touring I was worried for your safety.
@wakey1086
@wakey1086 3 жыл бұрын
@@ActionKid ok I was just pointing out there could be some improvement not not be so critical of your tours. I like your start n finish on the subway it's original which I like a lot. I'm from East Harlem not living in Toronto so it's good to see video's of home. Thou I wish 1 day u drive by 106 street Madison n Park i grew up at the Carver Projects there u have come close on Madison Ave but have driven straight past them. One thing I was worried with that nite time scooter ride from Manhattan to Queens your safety comes first maybe a car instead.
