A walk along 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn from Bay Ridge Avenue to the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
From Wikipedia:
"Bay Ridge is a residential neighborhood in the southwest corner of the New York City borough of Brooklyn. It is bounded by Sunset Park on the north, Dyker Heights on the east, the Narrows and the Belt Parkway on the west, and Fort Hamilton Army Base and the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge on the south. The section of Bay Ridge south of 86th Street is sometimes considered part of a sub-neighborhood called Fort Hamilton.
Bay Ridge was formerly the westernmost portion of the town of New Utrecht, comprising two smaller villages: Yellow Hook to the north and Fort Hamilton to the south. Yellow Hook was renamed Bay Ridge in 1853 to avoid negative connotations with yellow fever at the time. Bay Ridge became developed as a rural summer resort during the mid-19th century. The arrival of the New York City Subway's Fourth Avenue Line (present-day R train) in the early 20th century led to its development as a residential neighborhood.
Bay Ridge is part of Brooklyn Community District 10 and its primary ZIP Codes are 11209 and 11220. It is patrolled by the 68th Precinct of the New York City Police Department. Politically it is represented by the New York City Council's 43rd District."

I was stationed at FT Hamilton as a DoD / Federal Employee five years ago. My first time living and working in NYC. It was a great tour/assignment. I worked for the US Army for three years there. I met and worked with a lot of great folks there on FT Hamilton. Bay Ridge, was a very safe and well maintained middle class community. Thanks for the fond memories.

One thing I took away from this video was how much we took everything for granted. Maybe that's the message that is being delivered. I enjoyed this calming walk so much. I had to stop watching your live streams because so many people were saying such nasty things. The videos had stopped being entertaining they had become stressful, for me anyway. This video was like the ones when I first started following you. Thank you for showing this at a time when we need to see some normalcy. 😘😘😘

Verrazano bridge is so underrated, Verrazano was an Italian explorer from Florence (Worked for France) that was one of the first to sight New York Harbor and the Narragansett Bays. So NY was very originally Italian and French, Dutch discovered. It used to be called New Amsterdam. And York was named after the British.

As part of our chain of ladies specialty stores, we had a store on 86th street in Bay Ridge. Watched them build the Verrazzano bridge. between Brooklyn and Staten Island. It contained 370.000 tons of cement and it was the most cement the mobsters from New Jersey had ever seen ABOVE the water.

A very very pleasant video!! Beautiful ending. The neighborhoods you went through are older, but well kept, with surprisingly virtually no graffiti. The bridge was being built while I was in High school. I was always fascinated with the fact that it is so long, the engineers had to account for the curvager of the earth.

Such a great video... I've already watched some of your other videos, from Harlem and also one covering Brithgton beach and Coney Island... Thouhgh this one I apprecieated the most, because it was showing the area where I and a good friiend were statying for a week, back in 2016. Staying with a some wonderful hosts in an AirBnb apartatment in Bay Ridges, while having a nice travel/vacation to NYC, also visiting some family members in Bay Ridge. I also remember I did almost the same walk as you did, wathcing this amazing bridge, and also watched all those squirrels running around in the park.. We were around NYC a lot... and I will look after some more of your videos as well... Thank you again for sharing these kind of videos... I do also follow other videobloggers like from Moscow, which is one of my favourite cities, where I have spent a lot of time during the last feew years as a tourist...and looking after good friends. I wish you good look with your channel... and I will defintly follow you!

Wow! This is the same place we walked on while I was on my visit to see my mother. I was there back in December 2019. A few months ago, we went to that restaurant called Postiano (37:30) and my aunts and the rest of my family are there when we had my mom’s birthday party. There’s 101st St. (37:48) and that’s where I was walking with a dog. And I was there at John Paul Jones Park (38:29) where I was walking around with a dog where he/she took a pee and poop, and then towards the end, That’s where I used to walk.

This is a very critical situation. It will pass. Hopefully it will teach us something. Tolerance and justice and kindness should be what we are reflecting upon now that we have the time. We can better ourselves during this time and perhaps there's something positive we can take away. The losses already and those yet to come are the price we pay. It's not about the economy it's about humanity.
