A narrated walking tour of 57th Street in Manhattan, NYC where I travel from Sutton Place to 12th Avenue, passing many supertall skyscrapers, Carnegie Hall, ultra rich retail stores, restaurants, and Trump Tower.
Corrections: At 11:30, the next Avenue is Sutton Place and Sutton Place South. York Avenue starts at 59th Street. Also, Yorkville starts at 79th Street. The area I was entering was the neighborhood of Sutton Place. At 21:19, the building is not 300 East 57th Street, it is at 21:00. At 40:30, the building is only known by its street address, not One57. 42:11 is One57 Street at 157 West 57th Street.

Nice video of Billionaires Row, where Michael Dell ( Dell Computers) owns the $100 million + penthouse at One57 Tower opposite Carnegie Hall and where the most expensive apartment ever sold anywhere along Central Park South ( $250 million penthouse) by Ken Griffin ( Citadel Hedge Fund) is located. Most of these luxury apartments are used as pied a terres' ( occasional use) or for investment purposes and aren't even occupied. Expensive stores line the streets, as indicated. Keep up the quality videos.

You're bringing back memories..I worked right near Sutton Place and spent my lunch hours during the summer and in nice days at the Sutton Park...so relaxing with the view of the 59th St bridge, the Roosevelt Island Tram, and all the boats going by...it was never crowded..just like a hidden gem in the big city! Thank you!

Manhattan is huge, a great variety of architecture, beautiful buildings and skyscrapers. When I was there last week, that was one of the things I loved most, I was impressed. In my country Chile 🇨🇱, we have the tallest building in South America, it has 300 meters tall with an 360° observation deck at the top of the building with beautiful views of the city and, in winter, you can see the huge mountains called "Cordillera de los Andes" snowed. But that's the only building really big because the others have on average 30-35 floors, it's also because my country is very sismic and it's not allowed to build so high. I ❤️🗽🇺🇲

Just watched this today. Excellent work with your gimbal with those aerial views. Between the camera work, editing, uploading in 4K to KZbin and the story ideas., I don't know how you pull this stuff off man! Not easy at all, but very rewarding to your subs! Thanks!
@ActionKid
@ActionKid 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! It's a lot of work but very rewarding for sure. It's not too much editing since most of the audio is the natural audio from the camera, the most time consuming part is going out to do the walks, writing out the KZbin descriptions and replying to comments.

@ActionKid
@ActionKid 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! 1st Avenue being the most eastern avenue really depends where in Manhattan you are. At its widest, there’s an Avenue A, B, C, and D after 1st Avenue. This area is known as the East Village or Alphabet City.

Jabba the Hutt. I wish I hadn’t made that comment. It’s a bit disrespectful. But the streets of New York as shown in the video are remarkably empty of people. If you search KZbin for videos about London you will see what I mean. Trouble is, much of the street layout in London dates from the late Middle Ages; so there’s very little “planning” and congestion not surprising. I was once asked by an American tourist where was St Paul’s Cathedral. I said it’s just there, in front of you. It seems he and his wife were having an argument about it. She thought it was indeed in front of them; but he couldn’t believe anyone would build a such significant cathedral in such a cramped place. If you view a video of London look for Oxford Street, Regent Street and Piccadilly Circus. For starters.

Good job ActionKid. As always very enjoyable, Especially your highlights of the areas you pass. You know as the technology improves - or it might even be available now - it would be interesting to have a full forward and left / right and up images (or even 360 degrees) as you walk about. I guess if that was possible the viewer would need a corresponding viewing capability. But I imagine at some point in the near future that might be a reality. Bill

Hi Tom, I used to live in NYC (I live in Charleston SC these days) I really get a kick out of seeing my old stomping grounds when I use to work and hang out in Manhattan. I used to work at Cinema 1,2 & 3 in the late 70s as an usher/doorman/Candy stand guy. The same company that owned those theatres also owned one of my favorite theatres, The Sutton. I got a kick out of working at the Sutton ( I was always moving between the theatres. ) We used to wear tuxedos when we worked and got to meet some great celebrities. I met Sean Connery and bought a Coke for Farrah at the Sutton. What a great time it was for an 18 year old working with that company. I also worked at the Art theatre on 8th Street in the Village among their other theaters. Thank you helping me to remember a nice experience. I have to ask, in this video as you are walking on 57th and 3rd I didnt see the Sutton theatre. Is it gone? A piece of trivia, right across the street from the Sutton I remember that Burt Bacharach lived in I think you said 200 East 57th. I saw him a few times and asked him if he would give me a chance to write lyrics for him. Thanks again. p.s. Al Pacino worked at Cinema 1.

One of the reasons that trucks take 59th st to go to Brooklyn is that their height is above the limits of the tunnels and bridges along the FDR Drive. The 59th st allows vehicles more than 9 foot in height to be able to cross the bridge and into Brooklyn. This is very important for those who are driving a UHaul 15' and above into NYC and Brooklyn.

in VR, kinda cool. I've never used it yet, but it definitely enhances the quality of the video even without using it. For some reason, the first few seconds into watching anything in VR, I get a little vertigo and I'm forced to look at something else for a few seconds to make it stop. even without using the headset. every time.
