It's my pleasure Jon! Glad Fair Lawn, NJ has a dedicated walk from me now! You hyped up the bagels here and it's true! Fair Lawn has some of the best bagels I've ever had

Thank you so much actionkid I was born and raised in that town. You were actually right around the corner from my house when you were on berdan ave my family house was just up the hill. And well all my friends, but my best friend lived up there by CVS. He walked right by his apartment. Again, thanks brother for bringing back a lot of childhood memories. I live in pocono mountains, Pennsylvania.

Thanks for the tour. I lived in Fair Lawn from shortly after I was born in 1941 until I left for college in 1959. First on Orchard Street, just up from the High School, and then on Fair Lawn Ave., where the "new" library now stands.

Hey ActionKid! Glad to see you are back (at least temporarily) in the NY Metro Area. If you find yourself up north in the sticks of Westchester anytime soon be sure to visit New Rochelle, the "Queen City of the Sound" and the place where I spent my earliest childhood years. The whole downtown core has sprouted up with mid-rise condos in the last half-decade and is quickly taken on a mini-manhattan vibe with all the new residential and retail development geared toward millennials/Gen. Zers who have been priced out of the City. Plus, there are several of bucolic neighborhoods nearby chock-full of homes that date to the first decades of the twentieth century and earlier along with quaint, well-maintained recreational areas like Hudson Park, Glen Island, and Davenport Park. New Roc is deserving of the ActionKid treatment!

Ages ago, I used to work for a large photographic corporation and they had a photo lab on the NJ Rte. 208. I used to bring in the negatives from the dealers in the north Jersey area. I looked on Google maps and cannot find the lab. It was in the Radburn area on Pollitt Dr. I believe the building site was redeveloped into the Fair Lawn Promenade or the building directly behind the Promenade.

@ninja_tony2 жыл бұрын
Parts of Northern NJ and even parts of CT are absolutely considered NYC suburbs. A significant part of the NYC metro population lives in these areas and commutes daily. They have ALWAYS been considered NYC suburbs. Maybe the confusion is in the fact that there are few other places where people typically commute to other states entirely, but that is the case in New York. Another example, even though it's not a state technically, is that most people who work in Washington DC commute from Maryland and Virginia, and a lot of towns in those states are still considered DC suburbs despite not being in DC.
