Follow us as we walk around the winners of the best kept village in Sussex.
We started off at Lindfield common, a historic common used in World War 2 for a test blimp to take off at.
Lindfield pond was next, a lovely pond and the centrepiece of the village. The high street is lined by lime trees and is a beautiful place to walk, the houses and shops lining the high street are really old and beautiful pieces of architecture.
The stand up inn was a pub we just wanted to I’ll as the outside is beautiful, the name is great also.
The All Saints Church is very historic its grade II listed, and the churches construction was initially started back in the 14th century. It has been restored and built upon since then to what it is today.
We then visited the Bent arms which dates back to the 17th century. The current name comes from the Bent family who arrived in Lindfield in 1815. They bought The White Lion Inn in 1827, and shortly afterwards changed its name to The Bent Arms. The Bent Arms was earlier known as Wichelo’s and then the White Lion.
Lastly we headed for delicious Italian food at That’s Amore Italian, a newly opened restaurant in the village owned by our friends. Their food was delicious especially the carbonara and the pistachio ice cream desert.
