Coffee as health makes sense to me. In the two Wake games they always seem to be dreamlike, so make it where coffee acts as a stimulant to sort of "wake up" Wake by keeping him more awake. If he goes too far asleep, then the darkness takes him and game over. I'd like another supernatural game from them, but they need to make better combat, or just not do real combat. Maybe just create multiple things to do with the flashlight against enemies. A game based on the Fog movie would be great. Did you notice in the Vampire Bloodlines game (my all time fav game) the Fog's ship and the game's ship have the same name?

Something that really struck me in this game was the immense sense of "mystery". The looming unknown that glares into your face as you struggle to survive. That feeling is something that very few games and movies struggle to re-create. Not to mention the story and it´s very stimulating structure, even tough the character Alan Wake is flawed, it only adds to what makes him feel real, and that makes you invest into the story. So basically, I really loved this game and I enjoyed the DLC as well (Not as good, but had good elements in it). I still have the xbox360 collectors edition with the book intact, even though I don´t own the console any more. Good video btw +AngryCentaurGaming

Most enjoyable, I started to watch this over 6 months ago & got sidetracked, I'm glad I re-watched it from the start. I went out yesterday to buy this game used at my Gamestop to replaced my launch copy I donated to a friend right after getting it new along with the thick guidebook I still have. I have a video I made as a huge John Carpenter fan & "The Fog" is one of my favorite cult classics from John, I filmed virtually all the actual film locations in a 2 part road-trip video you might find interesting. This game looks incredible & certainly has those telltale Remedy dynamics like the first 2 "Max Payne" games which I have & love. Terrific deconstruction my friend, impressive.

Thank you as I learned so much about this title that I didn't before. Think I'll have to leave the Wasteland for a bit and travel to Bright Falls again. What a fantastic way to begin a new year! Do you think we'll ever see Alan Wake 2? I know they promised a trilogy and released that XBLA game that had an evil Alan in it (I did play it. but it was a while ago) American Nightmare I think it was called. Great re-visit. I got to learn a lot of things I wouldn't have otherwise known - about the game, the pacific northwest, horror, game production, and you as a reviewer. I remember playing this on 360 when it first came out. My friend and I loved filling in the story being told with our own ideas of how things would piece together. Unfortunately, I remember that this game was not given as many accolades as people were anticipating because people were focusing on combat and replayability - which weren't necessarily the design focuses of the game. I think it is a special game in that it fulfills a certain niche that's hard to appreciate if you're expecting it to be something it's not. If it would have had the opportunity to expand, I could have pictured future games being a great Microsoft exclusive franchise in it's own way. As a side note, I've never seen it in action on PC before, and it looks much better than I remember (which usually isn't the case with games). I haven't gotten to the end yet, so you might answer this, but do you recommend the collector's edition on steam, which comes with the in-game commentary? I'm curious if I replay the game, if the commentary would interfere with my ability to catch the ambiance and story (since I don't remember it). The commentary is an interesting way to extend the replayability in the title. Also, I never checked out American Nightmare, so I'm interested to do some research on that. Thanks for doing the video.

Never standed Pewdiepie and his emotional jumps, like any let's play on youtube. I just recently got the chance to play this game on PC and its definitely underrated and under appreciated. Remedy Entertainment themselves are an underrated developer. They haven't made a lot of games over the years but the ones that they have made have been successful with the likes of Max Payne, Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, Death Rally, Alan Wake American Nightmare and of course this title. The graphics look pretty good even on the Xbox 360 and especially on the PC. The voice acting is solid however, it doesn't match the dialog that appears on screen. On the other hand, the spooky and unsettling atmosphere, excellent lighting and shadows, impressive looking fog and the clever narrative managed to keep me glued to my seat. Even subtle lighting and sound effects are impressive. The game constantly pervades a feeling of unease and dread. Alan Wake does a great job of telling an amazing story thanks in no small part to the array of interesting and memorable characters that you come across. The game's combat system through the use of lighting is very unique and well done. Alan Wake is one of my favorite games that offers an unforgettable experience. I can't wait to see what Remedy Entertainment does next with the release of Quantum Break. What a great way to kick off 2016. Thanks for another great video as always Karak and have a Happy New Year. Finally bought the Alan Wake collection on Steam a few days ago when I heard it was to be decommissioned. It took me a while to get into the game, the controls sadly never not feel sluggish, and I absolutely despise the narrow corridors and invisible walls the game regularly throws at you, which turn many combat encounters into unnecessarily frustrating affairs of trial-and-error. That said, the atmosphere is indeed great, and I absolutely love how the abstract, dream-like violence in the action scenes is contrasted with the odd sudden moment of unexpected graphic brutality, such as Rusty's mangled leg. The developers knew how to put the limits of their ESRB rating to good use, and make such scenes actually shocking instead of ubiquitous.

It felt like people literally got abducted by aliens dropped all their shit and left some memory's behind ha I do wish they made more interactions though....Maybe something as simple as a pick up button so you could view items close up like gone home. That would of made Rapture a billion times more immersive. Something like seeing your footsteps in the mud like karek says. When a developer is able to make a player feel apart of a world it just makes or breaks immersion.

I like how they tried to do their best with the Xbox 360 version. On PC, they made the sun shafts enabled ALL the time. On console, that awesome light that bleeds through the trees and behind mountains is only seen in certain places, at a few set pieces. On PC ... they are there all the time. Lovely improvement for the PC version.

+Rares Macovei Yep. In fact I like the 360 version more just from a technical standpoint of understanding how to get a rig to perform some of the magic they did

How about walking the walk on deus ex human revolution...that gold filtering and that renaissance art style. Love the series very much...

I really enjoy this series. Have you thought of doing Bloodborne? There is so much you could talk about with that game.

+AngryCentaurGaming Unless you are not interested, you should take an opportunity to get/play it; should it arise.
