Where you live is absolutely beautiful and it was not a place that I got to visit when I went to Japan on four different trips. I have to say the slopes, hills and stairs would be the death of me because I'm 62 years old and I don't do well on stairs because of balance issues. It's still an amazing area and I love that country, rural feeling of where you live.

Such a beautiful and peaceful city! It seems perfect for people who would like to live in a calming place (like me). I live in Dubai, which is a busy city, so Nagasaki really does give the vibes of heaven to us. I hope that this peace and serenity will always be there in Nagasaki. I'll have my fingers crossed for a day when I get to visit Nagasaki and perhaps even live in it, if I get lucky! There's a Japanese market quite close to where I live, and it's one of my favourite places to go; to buy snacks especially, like Pocky, Meiji Galbo, Japanese KitKat, matcha, Oi Oncha, and the list goes on! Yesterday, I went there and came across a new product - pudding. I read its label and saw that it was Sesame Pudding from Nagasaki! I immediately thought of your KZbin channel. I found it very interesting. And, please post more videos about Nagasaki. We would love to know more about this wonderful city! ♥

it's really a beautiful and amazing city and plus with the mountain view!!!! 🤧❤
This hilly part of the city remainds me of Wellington our capital. Is how Nagasaki was named because of the hills?Because translated name means Long Cape. Seems you have to be very fit to live here as there are no cars. Imagine all the furniture for the house.How does that get there:).Never the less it is very beautiful.Thank you
@life_in_nagasaki8 ай бұрын
Thank you for wathcing! Yes, the name "Nagasaki" (長崎) is derived from the Japanese words "naga" (長), meaning "long," and "saki" (崎), meaning "cape" or "promontory." The name reflects the city's geographic features, as it is situated on a long cape that extends into the sea in the southwestern part of Kyushu, Japan. However, The origin of the name "Nagasaki" has various theories, so I too don't know exactly...😅. Some say it's from person's name.
Hello, Nagasaki-San 🐙 This tour was very cozy 🌷I prefer in my personal opinion the coziness of the top part around where you started then the lower part simply because I prefer living in a quieter place. I'm just a little concerned for the elderly and families with young children🥀 If I can express a wish I would like one day to see a night view of your walks and I cannot wait to see also the port! Both during the day and during the night..are there places to eat at the port? Did you find new good eating spots? 🌸 Many thanks for considering my request. 🌻

Sono molto carine queste strade lungo i pendii ed i panorami sono molto belli. Nevica molto in inverno a Nagasaki? Diventa difficile percorrere queste strade con la neve?
@life_in_nagasaki8 ай бұрын
Nagasaki non riceve molta neve, di solito solo una o due volte ogni inverno. Tuttavia, quando nevica, gli spostamenti diventano molto difficili, soprattutto nelle zone in pendenza.

Well, with the kanji for "mountain" as one of the radicals in the kanji for Nagasaki, it only makes sense for the city to be hilly. Two of the schools I worked at are on hills, and the scenery from the top can be really beautiful depending on the weather. And yes, climbing up and down the hills can make a great leg-day workout. The few times I've been up Mt Nabekanmuri, I've always walked from my apartment - about 10 minutes to Oura Cathedral / Ishibashi, and then another 25-30 minutes up. Fun fact: the viewing platform at the top of the (current) City Hall is free to access. The view from the top is great, and part of it actually reminds me of the outskirts of San Francisco. There's also a cafeteria that's open to the public, and the food is both cheap and good.
@life_in_nagasaki8 ай бұрын
I have many more sloping areas to shoot...😆 and yeah, schools in Nagasaki city are often located on the top of a hill, and the scenery from there is amazing. I've visited the viewing platform at the city hall, and it was great!

Are there lots of cats in Nagasaki? I feel that they would be happy there. Also, I think living in the slopes is suuuuper gorgeous, but locals are probably not very sympathetic because if they are older than you they might see it as an impediment to leaving their house and such (because it requires a lot of effort). I wish the government would do something to help the older people move around Nagasaki. Like maybe allowing elderly people to live in a super tall building in the flat area for their convenience or if they have mobility issues. I feel the same should be done for people with disabilities as it does not sound like they can live in the slopes. Like a program to offer them reasonable housing options so that they can continue to love Nagasaki. It honestly sounds like a great city. I am delighted that I get to see it through your eyes. Thank you very much!!

I like Nagasaki .. it very much more the Japanese culture that appeals to me than the likes of the big city’s like Tokyo .. Nagasaki looks like it would be more easy for a foreigner from the U.K like me to integrate into the local community not to mention be welcomed from the local folk ..it feels more personal and intimate and of course it as a-warm and friendly feel to it … if the folk are anything like you Mr Sho .. then I have no doubt this is very much the case … Question: what was said on the stone …was it a memorial to the lost lives during WW2 particularly the dropping of the Atomic Bomb ???
@life_in_nagasaki6 ай бұрын
The stone at 2:30 is something like a "Road Construction Completion Monument." When a road is built in a sloped area, it makes life more convenient, so I think it was erected as a celebration.
