Very inspirational. I once set out for the peak , but was derailed by bad road due to heavy rains , and also 4 idiots why tried to rob me just after passing the police station going up the mountain from Kingston . They had no idea who they were playing with. I intend to reach the heights God’s willing. 🙏💯%👀

My father was from Mavis Bank and most of my holidays were spent on my uncle's farm at Windsor Lodge. l'd been dreaming of the long walk to the Blue Mountain Peak, but it wasn't until around 1964 when l didn't need my parents consent, that this actually happened. Ever since that day, every oppunity l got, l was in the blue mountains. l've been living in the US for the pass 24 years and was hoping to be on the peak for my 70 th birthday, that didn't materialize, but l am hopeful it might happen this summer, on my 73 rd birth day. I've been watching hiking trips to the peak, but nothing compares with this. lt was as if l was there on the trail with you ( got a little emotional ). Thanks for sharing.

I have done that over 40 years ago. I was a mere kid and full of energy. We did it as part of a Church hiking trip. We had an absolute blast. We also did camping in new Castle and spent a night at the soldier camp. They were so nice to us and accommodated us after our transportation broke down. I think I have had the best breakfast ever in that camp. It was unforgettable. Those were some of the best moments of my life.... much blessings to u both for bringing back those great memories ❤🙏🏾🇯🇲🇬🇧

I did this hike in 1964 when I was a Peace Corps teacher at Meadowbrook High School. We had a group of 15 Meadowbrook students and stayed in the cabin until 3am and then started to the peak to see the sunrise. It was a great experience for me as a 22 year old American Peace Corps teacher! I am still in touch with my Jamaican friends. Thankyou Walk By!
