Walking Tour in Montevideo, Uruguay! | Norwegian Star

Welcome to Day 2 of this 16 day South America and Antarctica SOLO cruise on the Norwegian Star! Today we are docked in port at Montevideo, Uruguay. I've signed up for a free walking tour through Guruwalk.com; come along with me as I explore Montevideo and learn about local history, culture and architecture. After the tour I head back to the ship for some lunch at O'Sheehan's, one of my favorites on NCL, and some R&R time at Spice H2O. Oh, and I catch a few latecomers who almost missed the ship's departure! Something us regular cruisers affectionally call "Pier Runners"! :)

I'm seriously thinking about going on this ship, either the Norway/Iceland trip or this one (though the flights will be £££), following with great interest. And thank you for sharing, very informative to someone who has never cruised.

The Star is our favorite ship, and we have diamond status on RCCL. The Star has us switching to NCL. We cruised Ireland May 2023. Cruising it again to Scotland, Norway, Iceland in May 2024. The older designs with pristine cleanliness, and incredible staff, made the Star shine.

You’re going to have a great time! The Wi-Fi is actually really bad most of the time 😂 I do talk about this in my upcoming vlogs, but the connection isn’t good at all once you leave Ushuaia, just prepare for that. There are spots of connectivity but it’s super slow and limited, they actually ended up refunding most of what I paid for my unlimited package!

No, this cruise was over the holidays so I’m back home now! We missed Punta Arenas due to weather unfortunately, but I did an amazing penguin tour through the cruise line in Puerto Madryn and then in Ushuaia I did the “end of the world combo” which was also great!

Do you recommend to buy the tour on the ship or before hand? how much is the “end of the world combo”? I couldn't find it on their site. Thanks! @@MerCruisesSolo

@@BeccaL2016 I recommend booking in advance if you can because they do sell out! If it’s not available on the site they may still have some availability on the ship once you board, it also depends on how long you’re in port.
