Hello Dave & Logan.I was delighted to come across your video of Leigh as in fact my family lived there back in the fifties and sixties in the very cottage you showed, Cromwell Cottage!. My brother and I went to the school just down the road which was run by a Mrs Bradfield and A Mrs Faulkner when we were there. Our family were friends of the people next door at Denbury House. My first job was helping out at the bakery you mentioned called Fudges. The business expanded very quickly under the directorship of Steve Fudge and is now a well known brand with their products being sold in several supermarkets in the UK. My father also owned The Old Vicarage in Leigh which is now a retirement home , I believe. Thank you ,Dave for some fond memories! Needless to say I have subscribed to your U- Tube channel.Sincerely,Robin Wells.

Loved watching your walk with lovely Logan today. What a special ending to the video, watching the little robin helping himself to your cream, I didn’t realise they liked cream. Hope he left some for you. I live in Blandford Forum and looking forward to bumping into you both one day! X

Thank you so much for taking those of us, who lack your agility and energy, with you on this splendid walk of Dorset’s “green and pleasant land”. (I read that date as 1628 too.)

Loved this, thankyou both! More like a walk up the river than a walk in the countryside. That must be a mighty wet path in the winter. In other news, we've so enjoyed the snippets from the pen of Sir Frederick Treves, I went on a search and found a copy. Glorious munch through history. Especially our home town of Poole. The current incumbents of the council chambers need to have a read and educate themselves! The inhabitants of Poole were always a force to be reckoned with apparently. I wonder what the ancestors would have thought about being coralled into the "one", now known as BCP. 😂

Thank you. Yes, very much a "Summer" walk and even then I suspect sections never really dry out! Sir Frederick always makes for an entertaining read - he was never one to sit on the fence with his views that is for sure!

Such a lovely enjoyable video Dave and your research / info really makes it. No pub but great little village store/post office to end on and part of what our fabulous countryside is all about ? Long may we hold onto it ?

I was interested in your observations regarding finding so many buttercups. I live in eastern Scotland and have just returned from a wee break to North Yorkshire, where I was delighted to see far more wildflowers of various species growing abundantly even at the roadsides. Perhaps it’s a sign of fewer and less obnoxious chemicals being used: who knows.

It is just something that has been really noticeable out on my walks this year ...... I just cannot remember so many buttercups (or maybe it is just my memory going as I get older!).

Nice walk Dave. I would have pronounced that place, 'Lee ' as in Eastleigh. I reckon someone was having you on there. Nice area and grand day for walking with Logan by your side. Strange that the old track was so wet, after this warm spell. I daresay Logan appreciated it though. As soon as you showed that house with decorative porch, I said to Mary, that looks like a Wesleyian Chapel
