It is a beautiful part of the county for sure!

Sad to see the white horse in that condition, Dave, and if left it will soon disappear. A quick spray of weedkiller on the grass and weeds growing through the outline would clean it up very quickly, so I'm surprised it's being left in that state. Another great walk, and I'm glad you didn't get rained upon - the clouds looked quite threatening for a while.

Thanks Jim. We were lucky with the weather in the end as if it had got any darker then those views wouldn't have been as good!

Apparently the villagers are trying to buy the pub. The Ivy, Heddington
@excession3076Ай бұрын
Let's hope they are successful. I know lots of pubs/inns are closing, but there are thousands of new houses being built in the South around villages and I believe there's a much better outlook for village pubs now than in previous years. (Not that I like the new building/housing, it's criminal that our countryside is being destroyed to accommodate uncontrolled immigration).
@DaveFordАй бұрын
I hope that it does re-open - it looks like a lovely building and makes for a great "pit stop" for any walks in the area.

Hi Dave, another beautiful walk in fairer weather than we currently have. Shame the pub was closed and I hope as you do, that someone buys it. That view of the silhouetted trees on Oliver’s castle was quite something. I’m curious as to why 7 of the Wiltshire White Horses point to the left and only 1 points right. Any thoughts? Apologies, if I missed it in the video.
@DaveFordАй бұрын
Thanks Charles. I am not sure of the exact reason for the difference in the "pointing" position of the Devizes White Horse.

Another lovely walk, Dave. Not in Dorset this time, but in the rolling hills of Wiltshire. That was a beautiful old pub. What a shame to find it closed. It's a lovely area around there.
@DaveFordАй бұрын
Thank you Lionel. I hope someone buys the pub and that it opens again - it is such a beautiful building.
