Now that's a sweet addition to any builders toolchest that is if they are safe. I am 230lbs and had a couple of guys that were close to 300 so I would have needed to add a third one or upgrade to a heavier rated if they are available going to take a look into them for personal knowledge. Perkins you guys are great another great video!!

We just use 2x6 and a TJI 😜 But here in Michigan we build our overhangs on the ground. Plywood, tyvek, siding, overhang. All goes up at once
@williamdecamp7343 Жыл бұрын
Ya there is more efficient ways to build walls with overhangs and sheathing already installed, even without a crane.

What about the fall protection during assembly and on the sides? Guessing using a MEWP for assembly? Just standard scaffolding planks for the bottom used?

How do you get it off once the facia is on?.... For instance if a guy had a 12” overhang, that leaves 10.5” between the sheathing and the inside of the facia... Would it fit between s 10.5” space or would a guy have to disassemble it to remove it?

So help me out. Why not just use normal scaffolding. Will they not need it to do the facia anyway since it hooks over the wall plate and in the way of where the facia goes ? Or in America is it not common to have a facia hence this isn’t a issue ? (From the uk)
@PerkinsBuilderBrothers5 жыл бұрын
Good question…these are quick and easy to move around to all of the sides of the house to get the Facias up and sheeting going. I will scaffold up on the decks (once they are built) to do the soffits and finished facia.
@jamesfary23965 жыл бұрын
It looks like you will be cladding the walls later on, I’m wondering what platforms or scaffold you will use to clad the walls and why you wouldn’t set this up to do theeaves, roof and the cladding all in one hit. I’m guessing the height of the scaffold set for the cladding would be too low for the eaves?

I just envisioned that wall toppling from the wall walker because of the fat guy trying to climb it to be the third person on and the two skinny guys being catapulted off. Afterwards the two skinny guys in a tree saying freakin wall walker and fat guy!!! I'm sorry, I don't mean any harm LOL, the device looks ok but kind of cumbersome but to each his own!! Good video!!! PS I think you guys would make a great trio!!
@drewp5035 жыл бұрын
cool product...side note you should bevel the top of your facia board. kind of ghetto that you dont...helps support the plywood and easier to nail the plywood, install is easier (don't need to use your square to plane accross before facia nailing) and keeps bugs from making a home on the backside
@chunkmontana60495 жыл бұрын
When u bevel ur facia your going to loose like an inch or more wether your using 2x4 2x6 or w.e. I would think that would look like shit nailing whatever ur gona wrap it in. Especially if it's pine.
@drewp5035 жыл бұрын

@Paul Underwood I'm talking about the back of the facia, thats why you bevel it...takes 5 minutes...I fix alot of stuff that "40yr" framers did, so I wouldn't use that as bragging rights
@chunkmontana60495 жыл бұрын
@@drewp503 wasted time is wasted money.. same thing happens when u waste an burn up materials. I never have gaps in my plywood on the facia. Always plane right into the 2x4 or whatever they want and always has been sealed tight and always will be. I just did that to a three story 30k sq ft condo and all my plywood is nailed off perfect with no gaps so there is nothing ghetto about it.

I considered ordering some of these but at $519.99 plus $179.00 shipping for an item that weighs 19lbs and the add is unclear if that’s ea or for a pair, I’ll pass. They look awesome tho and a much better option than ladders and platforms.

Hey you’ve got some great vids man. I just subscribed, thank you for sharing you’re work. I have to repair a lot of siding and I really wish I knew of a scaffolding system that I could use on a finished house. I’ve used the stand alone type from rental yards but it takes a while putting it up. Especially by myself. Do you have any suggestions?
@chucknovotny10165 жыл бұрын
Pump jack scaffolding you can attach it to the roof
@wyattsdad85615 жыл бұрын
Chuck Novotny okay thanks man. Do rental yards typically carry this product?
@wyattsdad85615 жыл бұрын
Also does anyone have recommendations for re siding a chimney on a two story home? I’ve rented the stand alone type of scaffolding system but again it takes a lot of time to set it up when working alone. And it’s not the type of thing that can be moved easily for working on all sides of that type of chimney.

OSHA does not approve any equipment. The open ends needs to be protected with guardrails. They supply an end gate for this purpose. Also be mindful of the cantilever on the walking surface.

It's near useless junk but probably 80% of home builders in wnc use it. Just because its white and in a roll does not make it tyvek.
@9mmkahr5 жыл бұрын
Shut it crybaby prima donna! Only if the siding / brick fails first. They didnt start using house wrap until reletively recently in the home building recently. Houses from the early 1900s-1980s are still standing without issues. Roofing, caulking, proper brick mortar mix and sufficient overhangs are far more important. Fuck tyvek!

There's not a chance in he'll these are better than pole jacks anyone who's ever used them doing siding will tell you that . These arnt even in the same ball park . Yes there expensive but if your at the point of doing your own contracting you can afford these . 1 job alone would pay for a pole jack system shit you could probably get 3 poles and jacks with accessories. Setting these things up just to do fascia lol.what a joke
