Some race horses just don’t have the heart. Sometimes it’s the trainer. He’s gorgeous. Congratulations. For you and him. Can’t wait to follow his progress. He will definitely live longer.

I got two OTTBs last year and I can honestly say they are the nicest horses I’ve ever owned. They both just didn’t like racing and I’m retraining them to be showjumpers/eventers/hunters or whatever else they want to do and they are LOVING it! Some love racing, some just don’t and it’s nice to give them a different job they enjiy

A lot of the time it actually is the trainer not knowing the right distance of a race to put horse in what race, yet maybe the jocks didn’t feel his style of racing there is different things to consider when a horse consistently runs almost last in only 9 races especially for a young horse it’s not always the horse doesn’t want to run. There are just many factors to consider which most don’t. But now he’s with Elisa she’ll find him a very good discipline 💗💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Those are some cute mulish ears. Lately everyone I follow is getting chestnuts. I never realized before how good a shiny chestnut looks. He is just race fit; you’ll put weight on him in no time. Of course you need another horse - lol. Gotta follow your gut. There is something lively about him, even if he was a slow race horse, he might just be the right speed as an eventer. Looking forward to watching him flourish under your care. I think the problem you have is that you have a lot of clever names so you have to get lots of horses to go with all your ideas :)

He looks nice! Glad you're giving him sometimes to just be a horse. I had a standardbred mare come off the track as a 7 yr old as soon as she arrived we had an outdoor paddock all set up for her and she didn't know what to do. She just stood at the gate waiting for someone to bring her inside. I'm glad this guy went exploring and was running around. I'm excited to see how he goes!

If this horse did not win it was through no fault of his own. That is all I will say about that here. This horse looks alot like Phar Lap in Australia when his trainer was preparing him or his races. They galloped him up steep hills every day to strengthen his hind end and it worked. I have a good feeling about this boy. I believe he will reward you in the future with some terrific results in cross country and jumping. Dressage is a little harder for thoroughbreds but he should have a good extended trot and canter! 2 years from now he will look like "the man" and be dominant in 3 day eventing.

he is beautiful, and i know he’ll excel with an amazing trainer like you 🥰 i just got a project mare who is super sensitive, but a smart and quick learner and pretty bold considering she had been handled minimally for essentially her whole life i believe. i was hoping to teach her how to lunge soon, as my trainer and i will try to saddle-train her over the summer if she is ready for it and i was wondering if you had any suggestions. our round pen is on the opposite side of our property, with the barn in between it and the pastures and she can be a bit buddy sour so when i tried to take her up the past few times, she’s been pretty nervous and wanting to go back. she has already gotten a lot better with that though, and i’ve kind of lunged her once - i just clipped the lunge line onto her halter and let her trot in circles around me and do whatever she pleased, i just tried to keep her on a circle and calm (for the most part 😂) anyways, thank you so much!

Guessing your local alfalfa is lovely. Thanks to drought conditions over the last few decades, much of our west coast alfalfa is grown with water so mineralized feeding straight alfalfa for long has become dangerous.

Does anyone know of a person or a place that’s selling horses near GA,AL,FL,NC, and SC? I’m looking for a 15’-16’ hand gelding 5-12 years old and a eventing prospect but can be just started over Xrails. I’m not a beginner but not quite a intermediate. I can ride a green horse. He would live at my house so I could ride everyday with a riding arena and stadium jumps. Also have XC jumps.
@philosophersink70723 жыл бұрын
if youre a beginner you need to stick with trained horses for now. It's much safer while youre still learning.
@camillecauble59723 жыл бұрын
@@philosophersink7072 I’m not really a beginner but my aunt lives on the property and is a trainer so she will help me out☺️ I can’t afford you know a $10,000 horse but can easily afford anything under $5,000 and on all the pages and websites I look at anything under 5k is green or a prospect. So I would just have to be comfortable on him and we would work up to eventing😁
