I’m glad that he stopped at the coffin. I was afraid that he would maybe fall or you would fall if he had jumped, because of the slippery grass. I am proud of him for stopping; it was the right decision.

My issue is sometimes I ride him like he is Johnny(my retired 5star) so sometimes I can come like I would on Johnny and we would’ve been fine(ridden at many a wet Kentucky to tougher coffin scenarios). But Lee is Lee and I needed to account for that. He is a special horse for sure.

Yep. Not a mark on him. Also why there is a vet inspection the next morning where all horses are examined before moving on to the next phase.

Are there any concerns about Riot and Lee’s mental health in cross country after Kentucky? I believe Jimmy Wofford mentioned something in the live stream about how they were handling the jumps (sticky, sliding, stopping, etc). No judgment I’m just curious about your take on it!

Nah. Lee felt very confident the day after and we will get a cross country school to make sure all are feeling good. But sometimes that’s how it goes.

It would be awesome to know if there’s anything you do in advanced (hydration, etc) and then what you pack/do for the trailering. Also, a video on show setup would be cool too!
