One thing I have to comment about Wallis though… she NEVER did interviews, wrote books ,embarrassed or publicly dishonored the RF. She took to staying with and having a personal life with her husband and I give her all the credit for having that sense of class and maturity. Goodness knows there was plenty she could have groused about and acted horribly about. But she maintained her dignity. RIP, now Wallis. Edit: Thanks for a humane and respectful video!

Our Mothers are our supporters, best friends and love us unconditionally. I'm very sorry for your loss. You obviously have a very strong bond with your Mum. It must've been so hurtful finding out what these so-called, disgusting friends were doing when visiting her. To take from someone with dementia is wicked. These terrible people were elderly too and should've shown your Mum the same friendship, decency and respect that she had always shown them. Yet, some never learn these things, regardless of their age. My beautiful Mum passed away last year and she had dementia. She called it 'the long goodbye'. It's so heartbreaking watching your loved one unable to remember you. I'll always remember Mum's kindness, cheeky humour, laughter and lovely smile. She was the life and soul of every party and such a charming lady. Our Mothers were also brave, dignified women, who grew up during WWII. Please look after yourself Cutter. Sending you healing hugs from Australia. RIP lovely lady. ☮️💖🌹

Same thing happened at my parents’ deaths. People acted like vultures. Mother’s accountant ripped off the family big time. Asked for right of first refusal on her home since he had “helped” out mother through the years as Father was physically incapacitated and had dementia. ( DON’T EVER AGREE TO THAT!) Mother had highly recommended I use him to get things sorted out with her estate. She even wrote his name and number on the front of her Will with directions that I should contact him first should she die. Through it all, he stayed just a hair over on the right side of the law. He convinced my elderly grandmother into giving him a number of sentimental family heirlooms, not worth a tremendous amount except to the family, one being a black marble vase that my grandmother won in a high school business science competition in the early 1900s. Even flowering bushes were removed from her yard after I had to return to work in another state! He was a deceitful, dishonest crook! And those were his good points. To anyone dealing with the death of a parent or other close relative: Don’t make any major decisions ( if possible) at least for a year after your loved one dies. You will save yourself a lot of heartache. Thought I could trust Mother’s friends. It was an awful experience and hugely painful. I have forgiven, but I won’t forget the very hard lessons learned during that unfortunate time, and I won’t make the same mistakes again. Many people will take advantage of those who are grieving. Folks, be both wise and wary when dealing with accountants, lawyers, and neighborhood “friends” during a time of grief. Don’t become an easy mark for the immoral behavior of others.

It still kills me that I couldn't protect him, and my mother was suddenly hospitalized, and now we are told she can never go home...and I am too far away to be able to care for her, or to even ever see her again. @dianarankin1708 I commend you it’s not easy looking after our elderly in modern times. Especially with the economy the way it is. My two siblings 17/15 years younger than me, who drive wouldn’t lift a finger when our 88 years old mom took seriously ill. I am severely disabled and don’t drive, mom’s care/affairs were totally left up to me. Sadly I had to put her in a nursing home in 2019’. It was 5 hrs away, it was the only one I could get her into. Luckily it was in her little town, so she knew a few of the staff. I fought for better care and a transfer to my town. Sadly by phone you’re discounted! Mom passed in 2021, my siblings didn’t lift a finger to either move her from her apt to care, or clean out her room upon her death. It was all left to a person with chronic pain and has cerebral palsy. I had to hire rides as there was no bus that went to her town. I could only get halfway by bus. Our old values of taking care of the elderly have fallen out of fashion! Coupled with the fact it takes 2 people working to support a household! It leaves a person little time to care for aging parents, especially if they have children too. I feel for you and your mom. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦 🙏🏻🌹

Trouble is Wallis wanted to be Queen and even after she lost that hope, she demanded titles, money and more money, sending her husband to beg the Queen for status jobs (which the Queen declined) and money (which the Govt capped). We now know, since certain secret documents around WWII have been released that Wallis was sleeping with the German Ambassador in the late 1930s and passing on secrets to him. Churchill and a few trusted Ministers fed her false information but could not move in as it would have meant putting the ex King on trial for treason. Both she and David were fans of Hitler. Given that she supported Nazism and Hitler's beliefs, I have zero sympathy for her. She colluded with plans to replace Edward as King once the UK had been invaded. The reason why the Windsors were sent out to (what was then called) The Bahamas and Edward appointed Governor there, was to remove them *both* from contacts on the Continent. Simpson had a wide circle of fascist friends and she used those contacts to try and further Edward's sphere of influences. Time, rosy romanticism and half-informed pieces like this video, have dulled the threat that this perfidious couple posed to the freedom of the UK and the (then) Empire. Whatever you may think of wallace she did not deserve that not by any means David would have been very upset At the fact that the women he loved and gave up the throne for was being treated in that sort of manner Again whatever you may think of this woman She did not deserve what she went through

No one desreves the treatment she succumbed too, it's a harrowing story. Thanks Vic 😊

I do not think absolutely nothing bad about Wallis Simpson -- I do believe she tried to avoid this marriage realizing that she is not really welcomed as a member of RF .. or even the country -- I think she was a very honest person -- She didn't want to be a reason for anyone to cause them to suffer -- specifically the Duke -/ Certainly she was not a gold digger .. What bothers me is the behaviour of Royal family :: abandonment , indifference -- lack of empathy and lack of simple not really demanding help and interest -- It would be a great relief for the world if the Royal Family would show her sympathy ,, understanding and help after the DUKE's death -- I would never consider blaming her for anything -- This was love and if ever anyone tried to entrap the other it was not the Wallis Simpson -- that person was the DUKE !!! ............

Yess .. I do believe the Royal Family was heartless and they should help her after the death of the Duke -- Money wasn't the object -- just showing her some sympathy ❤️🩹 , interest -- help , send her someone to protect her from the crooks -- That would possibly scare the Susan Blum the crook

If Wallace had children, none of this would've happened. Better to have your own children fight over their father's money than it be stolen by some stranger. ALL childless women will be vulnerable to this end in life. This should be required viewing for all high school girls

@@marianfrances3057 I just wonder why only Campbell has written about it…and also the artificial insemination, using Bertie’s sperm… I didn’t know was available in the 1920s. I’m sure the Royals were upset with such details being leaked by Lady Campbell!

The queen mother “cookie” & her younger brother were the only two born much later than their siblings. Lady Strathmore had full knowledge & wanted more children, but after so many, she’d been advised against it. Why would they have ever imagined that these two children’s real mother would have been exposed?

That's a myth which has gained traction since the 1990s, David named her cookey because of her thick waist and bosom

She had dementia and was looked after by people that denied her visitors. She was married when they met and started “dating”. Her private diaries indicate she lived an extravagant lifestyle partially supported by her aunt and then later she and Edward lived off other people’s generosity. I mean really? She pretended not to want to be Queen but her diaries are pretty transparent. If they lived in today’s society, she WOULDVE been Queen, crown and all as there aren’t many people with morals left.
