Harry Chutney we dont have single carrots for sale. But single onions are at least 50cent each as theyre big. If you were buying for a family, you could buy things in bigger packs and get better deals. Bulk eggs, gallon of milk, 5# of carrots, 10# of potatoes, big head of cabbage, bag of onions, etc. No juice needed. Drink ice water and the milk at 2 daily meals, esp kids. Cheese just for garnishes as its pricey compared to milk. Etc etc.

That is so true about eating when you are actually good and hungry. I've been doing some intermittent fasting, and when your first meal of the day is at 3:00 pm, you don't mind the fact that you've been eating the same thing for a week. It tastes so yummy!

You are so right Brenda, becasue of the way I was raised, any food, any meal combo can be wonderful and tasty, I'm not picky or fussy and will eat almost anything and be satisfied. I feel bad for these people I know, including the guy I live with, who are so fussy and pick at everything, and need whatever they want when they want it, or they freak out and won't eat, can't imagine being like that

Zaiya, funny thing. I looked at your comment this morning; I must have put the heart on it when I was half asleep because I don't even remember reading it. 8 hours ago when I approved the comment I thought I had been sleeping. But I am happy your biscuits turned out. It means you are a good baker. Thanks for watching my videos, Zaiya!

For me I think I would have just had one egg n sausage n one plain with marg, then use a little of the sausage in the pasta and one side of the pizza, I do love making the Greek yogurt dough, it’s excellent value , flavour. Thanks for the vid. It’s interesting to see how people go about it.

I find your channel very inspiring. I have a short shopping list and it doesn't include any meat... And very little dairy (I get eczema from cheese and yogurt). Powdered cheese sits in my closet. That is very economical. One teaspoon and voila.

Powdered cheese is tasty and great that it works in your budget. Thanks for watching my videos, Ambika.

Not to be too intrusive, but when you were doing your 4 week quarantine menu, you were cooking for your family. When you do these $10 weekly challenges, what does your family eat? Do you do 2 different meals?
@TheQuaintHousewife4 жыл бұрын
Hi Candace, my husband shopped on the same day for food for the rest of the family. When I make these solo challenges for KZbin, they eat separate meals. Sometimes I cook for them, sometimes my husband does. On non-challenge weeks I generally do the cooking for all of us.

Great job on this video! Very interesting. Not the healthiest but this is exactly the problem that people with low-incomes have with shopping and eating...since fresh fruit and vegetables are more expensive. I applaud you for putting this together and looking forward to your next video.

Thanks Therese. I like to add fresh fruits and veggies in, but it can be hard to balance it out with the caloric necessities. Thanks for watching :)

I love these videos, thank you so much for doing this. I didn't know juice concentrate was taxed because it has sugar??? Is that everywhere? Anyway, you're an inspiration, thanks again!

Hi Pamela, I didn't actually know it was sweetened. But apparently that's why it's taxed. I think it's different in every state. Thank you for subscribing and watching :)

Wow. You are amazing. I was going to call you out for using extra ingredients until I watched the recipe part, because I didn't think there was any way to cook what you planned with only what you had bought. My appologies. I was so wrong. I am actually going to try some of these. The only diffrerence is that I am in Atlantic Canada, and even our Walmart food prices will be at least triple to your prices, so there is no way I will ever be able to do a $10 challange, but even so, this is still a great idea, and I am subscribing just because this is so awesome.
@TheQuaintHousewife4 жыл бұрын
Hi Sweetness, I mention towards the beginning of the video and in the description any extra ingredients needed for the challenge, which I try to keep to a bare minimum for every challenge I do. I know Canadians pay more for their food (and some US citizens too). I hope you can still get some affordable ingredients and have yourself some delicious meals. XOXO

Did you go by the canned bean aisle by chance? That would have been my choice instead of chorizo for sure.
@TheQuaintHousewife4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I went by canned beans, but the chorizo went further in terms of flavor and fitting into my meal plan. Thank you, Felic.

Beans all of the time will give you food fatigue. Too much of one thing with no variety can he especially hard on the very young and the very old. They will just quit eating

@@TheQuaintHousewife yeah. Even the dum dums are 2 bags for 7 and sometimes you get a crt for 2 dollars off when you buy 2, making them 2.50 each. I'm like I will just buy my dum dums at walmart. The only convenient aspect of it would be that my cvs is open 24/7 but not my walmart.
