@@jerryjackson8171 i am a combat engineer equipped with an mg-3. i dig machine gun trenches and the longer trenches that i dont know how to say in english (you walk in them and your whole squad is in this big long trench) i have dug alot of holes. it doesnt take as much as 3 hours to dig a whole 5 meter long hole that you can walk in and store all your equipment and sleep in. and now, 6 hours to dig a hole that you barely fit in and have to sit in a very narrow and uncomfortable postition sounds very unlikely. in 15 we have to be able to dig a hole that you can stand in and only your head pops out to shoot at the enemy and duck for cover. of course that is in the military but i wont believe it took these guys 6 hours

This was the first build were I thought Norm had the best idea. When I saw Lojo cutting all the branches next to his shelter I knew he was going to get caught fast. Video idea- You guys need to go to a craft/hobby store and try to make a lure from scratch including the hook. Think bending needles or finding wire you can bend into a hook and there are so many things you can use for the actual lure. Go to a place like Hobby Lobby, Michael's or even stick to the craft section in a walmart. Would be funny to do teams with your wives too if they all like crafting. Norm can have Mason or his sister help him.

One thing I learned in the Army when it comes to building fighting positions is to not gather the vegetation from your immediate area but one trick you can do to hide the freshly cut limbs is to cover it with mud

21:00 Im a marine corps vet and spent some time with scout snipers and learned quite a bit about making shelters and defensive positions like this and im impressed you brought up the fact the bottoms of the leaves are a lighter green. It is actually one of the signs you look for to spot an enemy position. From carrying the dirt away and making sure to gather leaves far away as well... You really did your research. 👏

@@Mbest624 none of them won, if you really want to hide a secret base of some sort, you'd have to do so in a much greater fashion than these guys could ever believe. You want to have a hidey hole in the middle of the gosh dang forest? Well you better hire a gosh darn excavation team, and get a lot of hemp bags, to stuff the dirt in, then you'd need to get some sand, water and clay, and make some concrete, transport in a lot of stuff. And once you have your bunker made, you need to clean up all the evidence of it ever existing, which is a lot harder than it sounds, because there won't be any trees growing on top of it, which means that there will be a large footprint in the forest that can be seen as a clearing, if flown over by a helicopter. And I'd estimate that it would take 15 guys 2 years to make a decent hidden bunker that can house 10 guys, and the biggest problem is the entrance/exit. It's a lot easier to hide in a city, than it is in a forest.

Another method I learnt of was if possible walk diaganolly through a river or stream but dont go down stream go upstream for about 200m before exiting or walk back on your footprints in the opposite direction of your hide, that way if you do get tracked you confuse them for long enough that you can make a run for it.

This was an amazing idea! As a 20 year combat veteran, we know what to look for. He might not have seen you, but the signs were there, and he felt where all you were before he actually spotted you. Ayo wouldn’t be found unless a dog was used, and that shows the importance of Combat K9’s. But can you imagine, this would play out for real, in a combat situation? The enemy is just as terrified as the US Marines looking for them. But yes a very cool video. Next challenge, purchase a Home Depot “shed”, turn it into a Ayo Labs. Get the biggest one on the lot! Put it out by where you stored the Itty Bitty. Have the men, to include The Davy Gravy, Red Neck Pimp it out. Seriously do a really solid build, add the deer head, decorate it for the seasons. I see a 2 story, maybe 16x12. Add a great big fire place, and make it the OFFICIAL AYO LABS.instead of meeting up at Wally World. Meet at Ayo Labs.
