There's something I failed to mention in this video: - ALWAYS USE 3 POINTS OF CONTACT WHEN ENTERING OR EXITING THE TRUCK This is very important. I don't know if it's been elevated to the point of autofail if you forget it, but there are some saying it has. It is important nonetheless.

Was told at the Dallas location they have someone fail, who jumped out of the truck and said “done” right at the end of the pre trip. Some drivers said time starts from your first touch of truck. Is coupling and uncoupling time included in 30 mins pre-trip inspection? Do you have use flash light to see jaws are closed? Do you really check the breaks or just verbalize the process?

Great video. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it. Two things: Make sure that your trailer paperwork is readable and that it matches the trailer! I had paperwork that was for a different trailer. 2. Landing gear push with your foot against the leg to make sure it's not moving. Other way, I actually do both, when underneath the trailer, while holding the round cross bar (the one that moves while extending or retracting the legs) hit the cross lower cross bar and diagonals with your fist if you hear anything vibrating that indicates that one or more bolts are lose or have started to stretch and need replacing. I have never seen anyone doing that but I can't be the only one. ;)

I start my Walmart trucking school in a couple of weeks. Any advice?

@@technoutopia4687 mostly just practice your pretrip. That's the hardest part. The rest is just backing and driving. Watch my onboarding video to see what it's like. Good luck!

Nice video Rick. A couple points that I’d like to make. What is on the 4 sides of the trailer? When I did onboarding, I also missed the hazardous placard holders and the snap pins that worked. Also, what is not on the list (i don’t know if it is included now or not included) With the hood open, I did move the hood and told the tester the hood stays in place by the hydraulic polls and the inner light housing chambers are in place and not moving also, the interior or behind the hood shows no damage. Back then, the tester said what I checked behind the hood was not on the list but they appreciated the extra check. When I did my onboarding, I practiced my pre trip while I was in my hotel room a few times to remember what I needed to check (tried to emulate the pre trip by memory). Hope that information helps others who do onboarding. Heed Rick’s advice and mine and you all will be just fine. Watch the testers, take your notes, show them that you’re invested in the information that you’re hearing and do the pre trip just like they do. That how I did it and I made it in to Walmart and have been here for a few years.

What's yall Paperwork like?
@getrichwalmart2 ай бұрын
@@mr.ComnandoSpawn Can you be more specific? If you're talking about trip paperwork, that depends on the trip. For mixed grocery loads, the trip paperwork is most often only two pages. One is the trip sheet with trip#, stops, weight, etc. The other is a seal card, tracking seal integrity throughout the trip. For GM loads, there is a BOL showing type and amount of hazmat units, if any. There's a seal card on these trips, as well. That's pretty much it. Backhaul paperwork varies wildly.
