I see about 40 drivers leave with trailers daily from a WM DC. I have Never seen one driver do a pre trip inspection!

The trailers are all checked by the shop you can't leave the yard without a green tag if it has no tag you have to take it to the shop

Dewayne Miguel no over here dewayne. They changed that policy last year in our region and for what I know across the nation. Since we do electronic dvirs there no needs for the red or green cards anymore.

@@Robert_Cedillos really that's actually not good because I've gotten trailers with green tags that had a blown tire and missing mud flap I've heard they cut back shop personnel that's not good sounds like walmart is turning into a fly by night outfit, lawyers told us they plan on fazing out the trucks in California because operating expenses and the lawsuit we won

I don't believe I saw you check your hub seal oil levels, or engine oil, coolant, power steering or blinker fluid. Although I think (especially in California) there's a nationwide shortage of blinker fluid hahaha

I work for Walmart and you don’t need to be all crazy about your Pre trip or your seal. I rarely check any of it they fix their truck very well and take care well done

Was that clearance/turn sig on trailer curbside even flashing? Didn't look like it from here. He scraped at it saying it was scratched for several seconds during which it should have flashed at least once... do the DC's have a quick repair facility to fix the normal everyday problems that many trailers eventually get? I know I really hate picking up a trailer late night and something's wrong with it but theres nothing I can do about it. Even worse if trailer ends up being out-of-service because of whatevers wrong, like a flat tire.

great video just one question how do you report the damage on the trailer before you go out so you don't get blamed

You take the trailer to the shop and let them know if your hooked to the trailer. If not, just go to the shop and tell them what trailer # it is and if its loaded and you assign to it. Pretty simple.

I haven’t done a full pre trip since my exam. lol 😂 I only check the lights, tire, everything is connected, no one broke into my trailer. lol 😂

So sorry, I get so many messages that I don’t reply to everyone on time. But to answer your question. Walmart does require you to drive manual but I have seen them accommodate to restricted licenses with automatic only. I would call your recruiter and ask them to make sure. Again this what I have seen. Stay safe

To make sure it doesn’t have more than 1/2 inch of play. If it does have the shop take a look at it and have it replaced

I’m set up for Walmart orientation for May 25 .. a little nervous on pretrip and what’s expected. I’m a long time driver but think I will have problems Verbalizing explaining my pretrip while in orientation is what I heard is need. Correct me if I’m wrong ? My orientation is on the 25 of this month. I got my license in Texas back in 2001 and we only have to pass quiz test on paper. I know the ins and outs on things and check all pretrip and know what’s good. Wish me luck ! If any advice pls assury

My orientation is January 4, 2020 in Seymour Indiana. What is the thing that guys feel the most is it the backing is it the pre-trip is it the over the road test? I’ve even read somewhere that a guy got told to go home because he cussed to much. What should I focus on the most to make sure I pass orientation because even the recruiter told me about 40% fail.

You need to focus on everything. It’s critical that you know your pre trip and in cab inspections good.

T Miller what I can tell you is the same as as I tell any driver. What’s your reason for coming to Walmart. Also to make sure it’s your decision and what makes you happy. Income and schedule are great. It’s not a gig that gets you home every day. In orientation make sure to have fun. What I mean by that is to have fun at what you do best. By getting the opportunity to come hear makes you the best of the best.
