Hi Billy I’ve lived in Blakenall 30 plus years and seen the place change from bad to worse and keeps getting worse. I don’t know what day you walked through Blakenall but that was quiet. Would I say Blakenall’s the worst place in the UK no but it’s certainly getting there. But reading the comments there’s a few talking about the government and yeah the government don’t give a fuck about little towns like ours or other towns in the country they’d rather give immigrants homes phones money before they look after there own people, taking the homeless guys off the streets, helping out people that need the help moms that are struggling to pay for bare essentials like electricity, gas, food it’s happening all over the country and Blakenall is just one of those little towns that needs help, there is absolutely fuck all for young kids round here this is why there chasing crackheads on bikes 🚲 for a bit of amusement and the old bill well they lost there power years ago but who’s to blame, it’s not the people of Blakenall, your better off looking at the council’s and the government for not helping the right ones out first. P.s before anyone throws the racism card in about my comment towards immigrants I’m not against it, but stop it, help our own out then help first👍👍

I worked in this area over 45 years ago. It was very rough then, but today it's on another level. There are two main reasons that these sort of areas have deteriorated so badly - one is the destruction of local industries and the other is immigration.

Listen you can say it's poverty but we were skint back in the 90's but we respected what we had. It comes from parenting full stop. If you don't guide those kids properly the streets will eat them up. Parents, get a grip of your kids and teach them some respect. And give them time of day ffs, just like you did hear Billy could see the kids front drop as soon as you had a conversation with him. Need more people like you

I don't think it's the kids fault. They don't know any better and most of the time there's hardship behind the misbehaviour. Hopefully you can talk some sense to them and plant a few good seeds in their mind. Respect for that. Sad to see how dead the area is too. 30 years back those streets would be packed with kids playing in summer holidays. Remember all the street games we had back then? Just thinking of Billy Moores trip to Paris a few months ago, it would have been interesting to see hom go through some of the estates or "Banleuies" as they call them that circle the centre of Paris, I think the area of Saint Denis near the Stade de France is supposed to be pretty rough as well as many suburbs in the North of Paris, or that was my experience when I visited my friend who is from there and moved back.

Blakenhall used to have sure a start centre which could assist young parents with general life skills we take for granted. Also a really decent drugs and alcohol therapy centre which I volunteered at myself. From 2010 the conservatives stripped it. I often think of young kids whos parents missed out on that type of social mobility help.

Billy I’m from Dublin grew up in a place called Darndale on the Northside ( Google it) place was an absolute hole, there was stabbings, shootings fire bombing Joy riding ,you name it went on morning noon & night the way they designed the estate made it a haven for anti social behaviour there was lane ways and rat runs you literally could only drive around the outside of the estate you couldn’t go inside it . Then the council did a rejuvenating programme pumped millions in to the estate turned every house around as in your back door became your front door & vice versa done every house up built amenities shops playground, football pitches .. now it’s an estate with everything & the problems just got worse .. you can spend all the money in the world but it’ll change nothing if it contains the same people .. love your videos most Genuine 1 out there

Going round in vicious circles yet again with more tragedy every time. I helped, as volunteer resident at the time, to set up New Deal for area improvements; even finally getting a doctor's surgery for the area for the first time! Money since long spent. Youth Services gone for ever ( though I believe the one at the community centre is still going through a different pot of money?). Best thing we did was to sell up and move out after so much trouble and crime we still had to endure nearly 39 years ago. There's still a lot of good folk living there though but, like most other deprived places, area like this get brought down by the minority. Until the criminal aspect is solved, despite pots of money and improvements thrown in to it, the vicious cycle of trying to improve the area will repeat itself again and again....no government has really attempted to improve communities and it's left to the good folk left to have to make do and mend again.
