Brilliant vlog as always 😍. We've stayed at The Dolphin twice and loved it! Just came back yesterday . We paid £6k for 2 weeks there with Virgin, all in with flights. This time we upgraded to an Epcot firework view and it was wonderful waking up to the sun rising over the lake and the yacht and beach hotel. Also sitting on the balcony in the evening watching the Spaceship Earth ball and all it's colours 😍😍😍. Did you realise you can also walk to Hollywood Studios from The Dolphin? It takes about 15 mins along the river. Stunning and fun to turtle watch. The friendship boats also go to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Such a perfect location. Keep doing what you're doing...it's brilliant!

Hate that your flight was canceled. This is why I carry a day's set of clothes and my bathroom essentials in my carry-on. We went to Canada and our luggage was lost for 2 days. We still had to go to the store for extras, but at least I could shower and change into fresh clothes first! :) Love your videos!!!

I think your family would absolutely love Jellyrolls. I went for the first time last week on a quiet Wednesday night and it was still brilliant. Cast member advised that Fri and Sat were busy, but Sunday is usually best as a lot of cast members go.

Hi Keith and Traco! What a brilliant Vlog! We’re so glad you decided to film your travel home day - We will now pack spare undies etc in our hand luggage from now on 😉 Funnily enough, The Swan & Dolphin also left us cold (as you put it) But on our latest trip, we decided to stay there, not only for the location, but also because it has the benefit of ‘Extra Magic Hours’. Even though it is a Marriot hotel, it is categorised as a Disney Deluxe so you get to enjoy the Deluxe benefits for a third of the price - although prices per night do fluctuate throughout the week. We were so impressed, especially with the pool, that we will definitely return. We stayed on the other side to you, as in The Swan side with a balcony overlooking the bridge connecting with the Dolphin and Crescent Lake, which on reflection, we think slightly better, because the conference people were all at The Dolphin side. The Swan is also a lot cheaper than The Yacht or Beach Club (Thin walls) but with the same benefits! Len ‘n’ Nina.

We were stranded in NYC back in 2010 due to snow in U.K. Everyone kept saying “worse places to be stranded” but, unless you’ve been through it, you have no idea how negative it can feel when you have absolutely no control of your situation. Virgin were brilliant and got us a hotel (6 of us in one room wasn’t ideal 😬) and a rescue flight but two extra days in NYC wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. It was stressful and scary. You came across very positive but it is so depressing so well done for powering through.

Glad everything turn out ok in the end for you both. A similar thing happened to us last year! Flight cancelled and it became very chaotic at first but with a slight difference, Virgin put us up in a 5 star hotel right across the road from Disney Springs and provided us with a complimentary evening meal & breakfast plus the next day arranged for coach transportation back to MCO. But I suppose it’s just the luck of the draw in finding rooms for a plane load of people. 😊

I’m howling at this plot twist 😂😂 what are the chances. I fully respect your choice to leave that hotel - I see too many complaints from people who put up with crap hotels! I left a smelly hotel in Lisbon and my other half thought i was bougie until he admitted how much more comfortable he was in the new hotel 😂. This is such a stressful situation and I totally understand the emotion. I just want to go back in time and give you both a hug!

That twist with you ending up at the Dolphin. Amazing! We’ve stayed at the Swan & Dolphin lots. Great price with transportation to the Parks and proximity. Love how you roll! We left Pop two weeks ago after a quick stay. I’m always sad. Packing up. And I’m only a 6 hour drive away. (Insert husband eye roll. :)) Glad you didn’t end this mega trip on a down note. omg! Tracy's face when you were trying to make the best of it, was everything. I probably would've started crying if I had to stay in that hotel room too! Glad you got to try the Dolphin. We almost always stay in the Epcot resort area and I really like the Dolphin, Swan and Swan Reserve. I prefer BWI or YC/BC but if the price is right I stay at one of the other three. For our flight in April out of Boston, the plane taxied out to the runway and then the pilot couldn't get the second engine started so back to the gate we go. After maintenance came out and couldn't get it started they de-planed us. I called the service line for our airline and got us on the next flight to MCO. Only problem was they said more than likely your checked bags probably won't make the flight. We chanced it anyways and they didn't make it, but the baggage desk lady said oh you'll get your suitcases tonight. So off we went to Portofino Bay. I was lucky because I had packed an extra outfit plus other essentials in my carryon, my husband had 3 pool shirts and a bathing suit. I still laugh whenever I think about it. I ended up getting a text at 1am that the courier had our suitcases but they wouldn't be delivered until after 8am. We wanted to get on Hagrids so I bummed toothbrushes, toothpaste and deodorant from the front desk since no stores were open that early in the morning. Hey it was a story to tell. 😂

When I saw that look I knew we had to go. It sounds like you had a bit of a journey too. Definitely wouldn't have wanted to get on a plane with an engine issue. Cool you got to have another go on hagrids though. Hope you're having a great week x

I am sorry you had that plane misery, but I am glad you got to the Dolphin. When the Dolphin was new, the lobby was gorgeous with so much wonderful color like the large ceiling painted with circus tent stripes. It was remodeled at some point to beige bland anywhere-hotel. It's a shame. The architect Michael Graves was wonderful at whimsical Resort Architecture. He designed the Swan, too, and the Team Disney building in Burbank, and the Hotel NY at Disneyland Paris. I think the whimsical style felt very old-school Disney before everything had to be IP. My first ever resort stay at WDW was the Swan. You could ride the boat to Epcot or HS (as you do now), and because the Boardwalk hotel and villas weren't built yet, there was a tram (like a parking lot tram) you rode from Swan and Dolphin, along the Boardwalk waterfront, to the International Gateway entrance to Epcot. It was fun. Good job on the vlogs. You two were fun to watch.

That exact same thing happened to us flying back to Phoenix from Heathrow on BA. We ended up timing out from noise ordinances when they finally fixed 3 hours later. We ended up at the Sofitel and flew out next day. Better safe than sorry!

I need somewhere clean that smells nice - not too much for for either of you to ask 😂 It was nice to see the grace with which you handled it, but also the natural emotions that would come out of that sort of experience. Love you both to bits 😊 Pro-tip: I ALWAYS tuck a shirt, a few pairs of underwear, and jeans or shorts in my carry-on. I have only ever had to use them once, but BOY I was glad I had them!

Feel your pain on this one a bit. We had a 34hr flight delay a few years ago. We normally fly Virgin but that year had gone Thomas Cook. Thomas Cook put us up in the Swan & Dolphin and when I saw the title of the video I thought you guys had the same. Sad that Virgin didn’t get you a decent place. I hope you applied to get your flight delay compensation from Virgin. Everyone on the flight was happy to go back to Disney and get an extra day at the Disney parks. We’d just had 2 weeks at Royal Pacific so only had Universal & Seaworld tix that year. So we hung out at the Boardwalk and spent the next morning at the pool.

We had a cancellation and we did get put in the Marriott but overall the virgin staff and organisation at MCO is very poor, had us all waiting for a bus for an hour outside in the heat and seemed to vanish. The one side of virgin i think needs attention. Also when you are leaving they don’t really care. Might follow your swan example if it happens again

Hiya 🤗 What a nightmare - that would be my worst nightmare as I am not good with travel days as it is but I’m glad you were able to get home safely the next day 😊 Ale & Compass is great value for money - I normally just get a meal without the buffet because I know I won’t eat it all. I have stayed at The Swan and The Swan Reserve (which sits a bit further back from The Swan and The Dolphin. I agree they are not very Disney as there is little to no theming but they are cheaper than staying at The Yacht and Beach Club or The Boardwalk and you can still get to Epcot and HS quite easily so 100% recommend if you want to stay in that area. The Swan Reserve is newer and a bit nicer but has less food options. If you’re lucky like we were when we stayed at The Swan, we had a corner room and could see Spaceship Earth (the Epcot ball) and the fireworks and we could see The Tower of Terror at HS - it was amazing 😊. I really enjoyed this series, I can’t wait to see what you have planned next ♥️ xxx

I feel for you both😔. Last year in October we were flying home (Houston Texas)on Southwestern and we were half way there. And then we hear the pilot say that due to circumstances we are heading back to MCO. The flight ended up being cancelled and we spent the night in the cold (no blankets, no shops open)airport, because we got a morning flight home. Traveling is ugh sometimes.

It seems almost wrong to "like" this videp but I really do appreciate you keeping the cameras rolling for you "uneventful day home". Glad you got home OK in the end. I have stayed at the Swan and Dophin and personally I didn't rate it that highly but that was probably because I was there on work and had left the family at home in the UK. Nothing really wrong with it but it seemed like any other business hotel - it was the location that gave it the edge. Anyway - looking forward to the up and coming vlogs especially the Atlanta ones. When our flight was cancelled with Virign we got put in Lake Buena Vista Palace with views of disney springs and saw Epcot and MK fireworks

I would have done the exact same thing you did after checking into a hotel that just didn’t make you feel comfortable! The last night of your holiday should be a good memory not one leaving you feeling icky! You should definitely book a stay at the Boardwalk DVC - it’s our absolute favorite!!

We visited the swan & dolphin when resort hopping before we flew back a few weeks ago and it definitely felt a bit vegas-esque, definitely not very Disney, but the location is awesome with so many amazing resorts around there. The first hotel didn’t look great at all, I suspect it may have been Fairfield inn & suites at Marriot Village, those room conditions looked awful! The hotel should be ashamed at themselves even at their room rates! Glad you managed to make the most of a bad situation & turn it around!

Just wanted to say I can totally relate to missing the kids. My daughter has been my constant Disney companion since she was 2 years old, she is now 17 and I am sure the day is fast approaching when her life gets busy too. Also want to say you should give Swan Dolphin a try. The location totally makes them worth it especially when you consider that they are usually the price of a Disney moderate. Lastly I just want to say that I (and my daughter) love your videos.

The Swan and Dolphin are owned by Marriot Hotels but partner with Walt Disney World as part of their Good Neighbor Hotels, that offer Disney benefits for staying with them. There's a good number of off-site hotels they partner with; however, the Swan and Dolphin are on Disney property itself. They are actually really beautiful inside.

I would add that Marriott is a well known brand, and if you book directly through Marriott you can earn points or use points, they seem to be a bit more likely to upgrade people who book direct. But what you really want to watch out for is the AP discount. A friend has gotten a room pretty cheap maybe 250, and since it’s a deluxe hotel you get the after hours deluxe hotel extended hours. Don’t discount the Swan and Dolphin. Yes less Disney like but can be a steal. They have a different bus system but you can walk over to Yacht Club . And they have my favorite I talian restaurant Il Mulino.

Great vlog, glad you made it home ok! We stayed at the Dolphin last year and found the pool to be the best out of any Disney resort! Only thing to mention is that they have a resort tax per night so if you book just watch out for whether this is included in the price. Still works out to be great value considering its location!

Don't know if you're back home but if you're still at MCO you should talk to Virgin to get reimbursed for the items you purchased due to the cancellation. Typically an airline will reimburse for that stuff. Oh and love your videos. You guys are really a lovely lot.

Hey Chris. We did consider it but thought it best to contact them directly amd tell them about our experience. We did check their reviews and they weren't all bad and alot of people seem to like it so we didn't feel comfortable about mentioning their name

Absolutely hate MCO. Especially security. Had a nightmare. They tried to separate me from my 11 year old son. Wouldn’t give me my daughter’s medical equipment even after 30 minutes and I needed to tube feed her and sort her breathing tube. Then some woman who was going to miss her flight left her bag behind on the belt because they hadn’t checked it in time. She’d been waiting 40 minutes. The security bloke threw a fit at me because she’d been chatting to me. Demanded to know who she was and what flight she was on. I had no idea so then he got bad tempered and took it out on me. Never been so stressed travelling as I was that day. 😂. MCO not my favourite airport.
