@TheRealAhoy Жыл бұрын
@@SnailHatanLots of significance. Emilio is like the Joker card of the entire deck of cards of the show, blink and you'll miss him, but him arriving on the scene was the worst kind of luck either Walt or Jesse could have had. It all started out on the wrong path because of him. Krazy 8 was pissed from the get go because he thought Jesse was a snitch, and Emilio was all too happy to take advantage of it. When he saw Walt it was like Christmas came early for him because now he's having a guy take the blame for something he did and his bullshit lie looks even better now because for some reason a guy he can legitimately id suddenly shows up. He can almost believe Jesse and Walt where both part of that sting, even though he's the informer himself. It's like a weird twisted sequence of events that suits Emilio perfectly, but he didn't account for the possibility that Walt was a guy ready to succeed his evil soul. Emilio gets all the luck going for him, then he gets punished by the guy who learns how to outsmart luck (Walt). Then outsmarting devilish luck becomes Walt's drug for the rest of his life.

Great reaction guys! These have been super fun. 10:20 - Hank is saying he can't show an autopsy of a pot overdose because people don't die of pot overdoses. Marie is definitely doing way too much here. It's a lot of an overstep to jump in the middle of something Skylar isn't asking her to do. Walter definitely had to kill him. There was never another option once he took the guy captive. Writting-wise, Spartan is right, Walt has humanized this person as much as he could, THEN committed the murder...darker for sure.

There's a difference I've always noticed with GoT. While BB is the superior show, I could not connect with the characters in the same way. I felt a deeper connection with the GoT characters. The characters of BB were "chemically perfect", but something was missing for me on a personal level.

@AllMenMustServe Жыл бұрын
Well, because in S1-4 of GoT they built the characters way too good. And there was always a confrontation between 2 or more different sides. Either you hated or loved them. Hell, I knew some people rooting for the Lannisters initially. That's how good GoT was. One could argue that S1-4/5 of GoT were better than BB for sure. That's why it was so disappointing seeing how GoT evolved. GoT could've been the best show ever created, like the undisputed best serie of all time by far.
@TomTomson81 Жыл бұрын
Walter's glimpse into the past was not there to show us how a person is composed. It was a character drawing for Walter. This shows that Walter doesn't really see more in people than meat in its components. He doesn't even think about the soul, that what makes us human. That's the point. That's why he can kill Crazy 8 at the end without having the direct need to do so, as was the case with self-defense in the caravan. He was just looking for a reason to kill him. The straw that broke the camel's back was not the threat to his loved ones, but his own life. This already shows here that his life is most important to him and that he is mainly an Egoist. He uses his family only as a justification for his act. Walter's ego was offended because he was open and honest and Crazy 8 wasn't and he believed what C8 said.

Thinking about it now, the whole reason they were enemies was that emilio thought they were DEA. At this point that is out of the question, and maybe they could've negotiated again. It's a question of how determined crazy 8 would've been to avenge his cousin, who was the cause of his own death. Even with this approach, though, an amount of trust would still be needed, and that is a lot to ask given the stakes.

The logic behind that shard from the broken plate is debatable, to say the least. If you were being held captive by someone who was intending to kill you, pending final decision, and you knew they had already killed your partner, then wouldn't you take advantage of hiding a knife or shard that fell within your reach? Point being, even though we can't trust Krazy 8, there is still a chance that he would have only used it as a last ditch effort to save himself, and if released would have kept his word on leaving peacefully. So the question now becomes, how many captive and desperate people, completely at Walt's mercy, who genuinely intended to keep the bargain if released, would not put the shard in their pocket as insurance? With this reasoning, If taking the shard would be the normal action for people in that situation, then Krazy 8's possession of it did NOT prove intent.

I thought that the football comment goes to Hank's narrow view of what manliness is and how Walt Jrs handicap is an overt sign of weakness that must be camouflaged in public. Not that he looks down on the boy, but because he carries a "law of the jungle" view of manhood that says any weakness must be hidden lest you become a victim. Look for that as we get to know Hank better. It's the same reason that Walt hasn't disclosed his diagnosis to his family yet, and why he would rather cook meth than ask for or accept outside help...
