You knocked this format out of the park Bliss! What a treat to watch an interview led by someone who is truly interested in the discussion at hand, with a guest equally committed to sharing the context of their work.

Bliss, I believe the film Walter is talking about is called Mulholland Drive. Keep up the good work !
@iantrowell91232 жыл бұрын
I think it's Lost Highway, if the collection was 1997. Lost Highway, Mulholland and Inland Empire form an increasingly unsettling trilogy where narrative and temporal flow just collapse in on themselves. All excellent films. echo the keep up the good work comment, great interview.....

Im starting in W< /Walter Van beirendonck World, im fascinated with his art and I LOVED 2001 era, he really knows what he's doing, and he's doing it good! TOTALLY an icon. So proud of you!

This brought tears to my eyes upon the first watch, because I remember learning about this “new up and coming designer” back then, with the green and the orange, and LED lights that made the pieces performative, as well as utilitarian and just a whole load of fun. He’s such a pioneer! Thank you Bliss. You’re so amazing!

He was talking about Inland Empire, for the movie of Lynch I guess

I’m so proud of you Bliss & impressed with the growth and evolution of you and your channel. Superb!!! Please keep going and maintain the Patreon, the community, exclusive content & discussion boards. People will appreciate the quality and support it 💯🙌 (Also guys so impressed by the humility and down to earth vibes - Bliss replied to a DM I sent and it’s so refreshing to be able to converse a bit - I know he must have so little free time managing all “this”)

Me yelling "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" at the screen. (Sadly, Walter couldn't hear me.) The 1969 'dancing' movie about Depression Era dance contests, which McQueen used as inspiration for his S/S 2004 collection.

Just in case it hasn't been mentioned, Lost Highway (1997) is the David Lynch film Walter is referring to.

@@BlissFoster I believe he says something about it being released not long before he created this collection, my money is on Lost Highway. Mulholland Drive is posterior.
@Thirdeariespace2 жыл бұрын
Also, I think the "dancing contest movie" is likely "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" (1969) which also inspired Alexander McQueen as mentioned, specifically SS2004
