I tried to dress in a more polished feminine way but I figured that I don't feel comfortable in a chanel inspired jacket or a maxi skirt, though they don't look bad on me, I don't feel like myself. I never liked the heavy, dark eye makeup look, with the “glam” false lashes. I think natural-looking makeup is much more classy, elegant and always in style. People want to see your beautiful faces, not your makeup!

I’ve noticed that in the KZbin world a lot of people just feel the need to repeat the same words, when a lot of the times even though we know why we’re watching the video for the style that we’re trying to achieve. But if given a preference I would much rather hear the words sophisticated, elegant, chic, etc. over and over, rather than the word “obsessed” any day! At least those words are much much better than “cute” or “I’m so obsessed” with this… once I hear those to words or phrases too much in a video I leave the video.

I understand polished, but why do I need to look “expensive”? Looking polished and put together should have nothing to do with how much you spent. I don’t care for that adjective. It seems to fly all over the place. It makes women think they have to spend a lot on an item to look fashionable. I know you are saying you can look expensive without spending a lot, but I still don’t care for the message. Just my opinion.

Just a guess, but there is a big social push for “old money” style and “quiet money” which would automatically assume “expensive” because those families CAN spend a lot of money. So people would be “replicating” that style to look expensive, even if you didn’t spend much. It may just be a negative connotation some people have with the word expensive itself?

I’m trying to express myself with my appearance. If I get it right it makes me feel good. I aim to be fashion forward as well as understated. Also androgynous feels good. I’d prefer no references to money or status, that seems inappropriate and makes me cringe. I like to be careful with my language to express inclusivity. This is nothing to do with our fabulous Anna, who I love and respect anything she wants to say. I’m just mindful of what my language trends express.

You are so right about the structured handbag! A structured bag looks so much neater and more stylish than a slouchy bag. Personally I never buy any bag that doesn't: stand up on it's own, have metal feet to keep it off the floor, and have handles that don't fall over onto the floor. In other words, a classic structured bag! It elevates every outfit, even sweats and jeans.

I have discovered an amazing hack for pointy toe shoes. I take a square of small size bubble wrap and wrap my toes before inserting my foot in the shoe. You can just throw it away after wearing. It keeps your feet comfortable all day.

Hi Anna.. great video as usual. I still have not bought the pointy shoes. I love that you found some that are comfortable. I finally put all of my black clothes together, all my beiges and off whites, all the greys etc in my closet. Then the pops of color if I don’t want to do monochromatic are camis or tanks. It has made my getting dressed so easy. You made me laugh about getting ready for church services because since we have not gone anywhere big since my husband had his two knee replacements now we are back in church and I think yay I can finally have something on besides shirts and a tank. I think we are getting cold weather soon. These warm days do nothing for the cold weather outfits in our closets. Thanks Anna. Your energy is so great and contagious. It surprises me since you have a small child. You must be eating right and still working out a lot . My husband joined the gym last week..I might too. ❤❤❤❤

I live in jeans too but I have started buying colors other than blue. I have “raisin”, black and dark green cords. I mix and match lt gray, black, pink and tan with then all. It works and is less predictable. Plus I have fewer clothes in my closet because they all go together.

I am on workday Zoom calls multiple times a day. So, I am still lining my eyes, lips, contour, etc. working remote is such a benefit that I do not take for granted. I enjoy “showing up” remotely every day. That might be a good future video, Anna❤

I always feel frumpy in cardigans, except for waist-length, thin-knit ones, buttoned up and worn as a top. I really prefer a blazer, especially a classic, fitted one. If I need more comfort, I wear one of my knit blazers - they have the structure of a blazer, but the comfort of a sweater.

I notice trends but have classic taste … and have been wearing pointy shoes since the 80s because I like them. (There were some square-toed in the 90s, though.) I have definitely been lazy and worn things I no longer liked because I don’t enjoy shopping. Living in Minnesota, I never know what to do with shoes from Nov-April. I get tired of boots and would love to try a pointy toe flat or a loafer but with the pant lengths being shorter and your ankle/skin showing….that just looks weird when it’s 20 below. The problem when classic expensive looking things become trendy they become over saturated and cheap looking because all the cheaper brands are doing it so it kinda ruins the expensive look the classic stripe is now everywhere so it doesn't look classy and expensive anymore 😭 if everyone is doing it then its not luxury anymore 😔

Great video - I do keep all my like colors and clothes types together in my closet - it really helps when styling an outfit (although now I feel like David Beckham and his closet!!) I feel trends and styles are coming back quicker than ever. 4 years ago I bought a dress for a trip which didn't happen due to Covid. I've never worn it (a dress is not something I have a lot of need or call for), and this year I have seen almost identical dresses on several sites and not only that, it is in a pattern that is mainly green, which again is very trendy. This makes me very happy, as it wasn't a waste of money, and the dark green suede, pointed toe block heels I bought to go with it are also still in! Love your striped sweaters.
