Sunscreen tip: If you're outside and wearing makeup you can buy setting spray with spf. That way you can reapply your Sunscreen and keep your makeup from melting off your face. I have Supergoop resetting spray with spf 40 and Milani make it last with spf 30 🌞

You can make bright and soft work if you repeat the bright color on the opposite end of the outfit, i.e., bright top and shoes, bright bottom and scarf or headband (same color, of course).

You found such good examples to show what a big difference in chroma does! It's a good place to start looking for why a combination that should work, doesn't. Using all-low-saturation colors clearly looks more cohesive. The time for a high contrast in color saturation would be when the high-chroma piece is intended to be the center of attention, like a special fuchsia silk blouse under a taupe suit. Anna, I missed your favorite undies link, but I'd love to see a full video on your favorite underpinnings solutions. You live in spaghetti-strap-floaty-translucent-clothing land. Anything you can share about shapewear, undies, and a bra wardrobe would be super helpful.

Great video! Laughed when you mentioned nylons, haven't owned them in years! I also live in Florida and find knee length shorts a good alternative to capris (but I still own a few) Sun screen is really a good idea but I totally avoid middle of the day sun. My Mother taught me to always have plenty of white shirts to cover up. A video on Florida dressing would be helpful for residents and guests (guests always burn). Thank you!

I don’t live in Florida but would love a video with suggestions for hot locations! I’m in NC and it’s in the 90’s from late May thruaugust and into September. If I am at home, I wear a loose sleeveless or spaghetti strap dress just trying to keep cool. If we go out , it’s so tough figuring out what to wear that I can get away with not wearing a bra so I don’t overheat.

I still love to wear capris when I go hiking in the summer (which is a lot) but I always cut them to hit a flattering part of my leg and problem solved! It looks flattering but kinda effortless and bummy…. In a cute way!

Here in the UK spring is a nightmare to dress for. It is usually below zero or close to zero until about midday then it'll warm up but if there is a breeze it's cold but no breeze it is warm! Very tricky season

I've been to England twice in the spring, and I can verify that spring is problematic there! We toured Warwick Castle one May day, and it was sunny and mild. Then two hours later, I was sitting in the courtyard when suddenly five inches of hail dumped down. Then in 15 minutes, it was all melted away. My husband came out of the gift shop and I told him what happened, but I don't think he believed me! There wasn't a sign that anything happened. He thought I was pulling his leg.

Agree with all. Totally love bright orange with hot pink. As for not wearing sunscreen the risk for skin cancer increases. Especially if you are out in the sun frequently. I know we tend to wave it off because we think it sure won’t happen to us. It’s annoying to put it on but soooo necessary!

Love your tips! The sunscreen one is important (skin cancer runs in our family), but we stick with mineral based sunscreens because - of course - the chemical ones now carry some health risks of their own. It drives me crazy when a favorite make up mixes the chemical ones in, and I can’t use the make up it anymore. Loved your color examples… I stopped wearing black years ago because it’s too intense for my soft coloring, and sticking to softer or medium colors and neutrals has made it easier to plan outfits that look right on me.

Sorry. I wear capris all summer (unless I am wearing a sundress, which is actually cooler). I started wearing them when my legs no longer looked good in shorts. I think they are fine if you keep them at the same length as a skirt length that flatters you - which I do. Also, nude sandals help the 'cut your legs off' thing.

One of the biggest spring style mistakes I see and try not to do myself is white pants or shorts that show the world what style and color of underwear you have on. I tend to stick mostly to nude undies most days, but ESPECIALLY if I am wearing white. But finding white pants and shorts that aren’t translucent is key; I have tried a TON, and finally have a good pair white denim pants and a good white denim pair of shorts.

Great video. Love the tip about lights with lights and brights with brights. Never thought of that before. Will definitely keep this in mind going forward. I just bought a pair of bright pink shorts and had planned to wear white, ivory or black with them. I thought black looked good with my shorts. The black top I got from Old Navy that I tried on with my pink shorts is not a dark black, but almost a very dark charcoal or sort of a washed out black so maybe that is why it looks okay. I will have to try on my shorts with a dark black to see how that looks. I don't own anything orange but I love the bright orange and bright pink idea so will be on the lookout for an orange top for summer. Thanks for the idea! 🙂

My biggest issue with nude pantyhose is that I live in Michigan and the weather is super cold. So if I don’t wear nude ones with light colored dresses or skirts then I only have to wear dark skirts/dresses or pants. That’s the issue I have constantly and I love bright or light colors during the winter. Any recommendations?

Wear them. If you feel they are right, trust yourself. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wearing hose, just choose shoes carefully. My skin is very fair and honestly need the evening out of colour, so if I want, I do.

Michigander here too! Have you ever tried nude lace or fishnet nylons/tights? You can wear them over the nude pantyhose if you’re looking for warmth, but the pattern will modernize the look.

I struggle often with my weekend wear. Or anytime I’m not a work since I spend my days there. So just being a Mom of 3 I have gotten to point of putting less effort into my casual wear for going to the store or getting out on weekends if that makes sense. For Spring I hope to invest in newer shorts, tops , jeans, dresses that look a little more put together. I also live in the south and it gets extremely hot for days on end.

I believe in natural coloring types, so I don’t think anyone looks equally good in clear brights and muted colors. My coloring type is Soft, so I don’t buy those sharp bright colors. Not only will they overpower my coloring, they won’t work well with the rest of my wardrobe. I’m a fan of getting a personal color analysis and creating a fairly tight wardrobe-color palette in the most flattering colors for each individual. It also makes it easier to shop, I know at a glance won’t suit me or work with my other items.
