If this kind of presentation is made for the first time, it's pretty awsome! I want more videos like this one!

Thanks for the video! I've recently taken up smallbore shooting again after a gap of about 25 years! This looks like an amazing rifle - certainly a bit more advanced than my dear departed BSA Martini!

@@cliffcox7643 ah ,you mean the Match 54 action. The KK500 is superior to any Anschutz using the 54 action

@@jobervelasco8614 but can you tell me why? You know how some people are enamored by things, but have no basis for it...an emotional but non based reason, which I'm not staying you are. Im just trying to find out the facts about why one is superior vs another before I buy.
@jobervelasco86142 жыл бұрын
@@cliffcox7643 the Match 54 action still uses a very long bolt and the loading port is very far forward. It makes it very hard to load in prone especially for people with short arms that need to lift their arm and reach forward to load a round. One of the Team Canada shooters I know couldn't physically reach the chamber in prone and had to toss rounds in the loading port. The KK500 has a shorter bolt with the loading port moved to the rear. The loading port is directly over the trigger. This enables a user to load the rifle (especially in the prone position) without having to remove their elbow from the ground and reaching forward to insert a round in the chamber. This had proven to be especially advantageous to everyone. It is a feature on the KK500, the Grunigs, the Bleikers, and the new Feinwerkbau smallbore rifle.

Garth Hogarth 3 weeks ago Hi Jober: Have you or could you do a review on the KK500E, I am interested in the functionality of the Electronic trigger, how it is charged, how long the charge will last and if your aware of any issues with this trigger mechanism. Is it different to the mechanical trigger mechanism? I am looking at purchasing a new rifle and like the look of the KK500, I have heard stories of trigger issues with the mechanical version. Interested in your take on the 'E' version. Cheers
@jobervelasco86143 жыл бұрын
i don't have access to anything with an electronic trigger unfortunately. my preference is mechanical always, don't want to worry about a dead battery

Hi Jober: Why do Walther offer the KK500 in a 650 and 690mm barrel? Why would you purchase this in a 650mm configuration over a 690mm configuration?
@jobervelasco86143 жыл бұрын
The 650mm barrel is available in a smaller diameter so this version of the KK500 is lighter and has better balance suited to those who may be smaller in size.

What are the advantages of a 690 vs a 650 with a long bloop tube? Also edited to ask: does the parallel linkage on the rear of the stock eliminate the need to cant the rifle when you offset it?

That gun is designed and made with listening carefully to the shooters.. thats the way to go with any produkt that needs to perform with humans handeling it. Although circumstances are different I wonder how long it takes before the millitairy will incorperate some of these ideas for their sniperrifles..
@cliffcox76432 жыл бұрын
Military sniper rifles are a totally different animal and are constantly evolved from. Input from soldiers, but have to be much more robust vs a target rifle.

Great review. Does your Walther have a favourite ammo or are you obligated to use a particular brand based on team or individual sponsorship? I used RWS Championship until I ran out. I have also used R50 and CenterX in my kkj-t and my buddy’s kk300, but there are so many other great low velocity options... Too costly to try them all. Can you save me some time and money and point me to a couple of your favourite training and competition loads? Many thanks,
