He fucking killed it with his performance in this movie. The way he delivered his lines was absolutely hilarious, he was creating laughs where there were no punchlines. He was a standout amid a standout cast. I love Kurt Russell and he was amazing as well, I really can't point out an actor who was mediocre in this film, they were all great. Goggins hooked me with this performance, I knew of his work before and thought he was a good actor but now I'm a legitimate fan and am hoping this role gives him some more opportunities to play great characters. An actor is only as good as the material they perform and this guy deserves good material. No one knew how great Christoph Waltz could be until he got a crack at some great writing. To my knowledge he was a working German actor doing soap operas and the like but once he got an opportunity to mold a memorable character he took it by the balls and crushed it out of the park. I'm hoping the same happens with Goggins and he gets a nomination for best supporting actor. I think Russell, Leigh, and Jackson also deserve a nomination for their performances, the other actors were superb as well and could also qualify for that distinction. I don't know if there is an award for best ensemble cast but if there is this cast deserves not only the nomination but the win itself. Best screenplay should also nominate Tarantino for the excellent script.

this was a great interview, the way Walton layed out how his character developed was exactly how i experienced it watching him on screen and im not sure why it stood out to me like it did watching the interview. Perhaps because often when actors talk about their character the don't match up to my viewing experience to the T or something idk haven't really thought about it till now. Never noticed it till i came across an example maybe that was so well matched.

He should have got an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor, along with everyone else in this film that brought their A-game to this powerful and striking Tarantino masterpiece. I have so much more respect for this man as an actor than ever before and hope he continues to do great work like he's doing now with Danny McBride in Vice Principals. He's one of those wacky talents like Jack Nicholson that should not go unnoticed, and I'm glad Tarantino picked him for this movie, because it is true that when Tarantino hires you; it's because he truly does see something in you. And i sure as shit saw it in this movie which is without a doubt my new favorite Tarantino flick next to Pulp Fiction, as it really showed the nature of man, and how fucked up people can be and were in that time period. Best damn Tarantino film to date and can't wait to see what he comes up with next as the man clearly just keeps on impressing with his absolute love for movies.

He was awesome in H8, I love the way Tarantino hints at how our country can heal itself from this quagmire of racism and reverse racism. At the beginning of the movie John Ruth says to Maj Warren “ one things for sure you aren’t partnering up with this black hating southerner”. But that is exactly what happens, in the Warren /Mannix relationship we see a black guy who hates whites and a white guy hating Blacks form a bond, because of a personal code. Samuel L Jackson and Walton Goggins both deserved an Oscar nomination. Tarantino really did something with the H8, he made a western that stands up there with the good bad and the ugly, high plans drifter, outlaw Joey wales.
@JnEricsonx4 жыл бұрын

His character arc was incredible. Going from a stauchly racist confederate to putting his honor as a sheriff to look past that racism to help the very person youd think hed never help to see justice through. A very flawed character but one with alot of charm.
