I've watched these when they were posted separately as mini documentaries, but it's nice to watch it all again in one go. Thanks for the informative video.

About ten years ago I tried to write a novel about the fall of Minoan Crete and the rise of Mycenaean Greek presence on the island. It did not work out. The information I needed was simply unavailable to me. But this video gives me hope to revisit that story in the future, now that I'm learning new things.

Been following these people in my archeological bible. They were the people who wanted to live in peace. Rather than live with constant war against all the Barbarians who went from city to city slashing, burning, massacre man, woman, child farm animals burning crops and stealing children, they would move, build a new city. Eventually the Viking blitz or Mongolian hordes would come through take over, subjugate all to slavery. Kick them out eventually but they came back for revenge and smash everything they had built. They were first architecture, weavers of clothing, pottery, glass blowing, jewelry, multiple items for trading in order to get natural resources not available at their location. Nothing changes. Same destroyers are still destroying and taking over anyone successful.

Outstanding and fascinating work! Very much appreciate your well-researched and well-communicated contributions. I've taken up writing stories originating from this time period as a hobby, and your videos have been the most helpful in painting an amazing and dynamic picture. Keep it up!

Now i know why crete was attacked by mycaenean Greeks King minos use to capture athenians and put them in a Labrinth which looked like a maze it was usually placed under the palace of the cretan king minos inside that maze was a creature call as minotaur one that was capable of killing captured slaves but when Theseus of Athens arrives he kills the minotaur with the help of a cretan princess this incident caused the mycaenean Greeks to attack minoans and conquer Crete.

Did the Thera volcano have any bearing on why Mycenean's invaded Crete?
@WanaxTV2 жыл бұрын
It is likely that it had a negative impact on the Minoan economy and infrastructure. It allowed the Mycenaeans to increase their own influence and grow in power, eventually coming to take over Crete itself.
