In order for you to understand what's going on you need to watch the X-Men movies: First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, and Dark Phoenix in order to understand why Evan Peters is Pietro. @@angiegalara no this guy who just showed up in Wandavision is Quicksilver from an alternate universe (aka the fox Xmen) where he is still Wanda's brother and they are both still Magnetos kids which all lines up with the comics... well a couple versions of the comics anyway, being as how these characters back stories ha e been rewritten a few times. But this actor who played Quicksilver in the Xmen is now playing Quicksilver in the MCU aka Peter/Pietro. He is all of those things again just from an alternate reality.

In the comics, Wanda and Pietro are mutants but joined the Avengers early on. When Marvel sold the X-Men movie rights to Fox, that included Wanda and Pietro. But because of their long history as Avengers, Marvel was able to keep the rights to use them in an MCU film as long as they weren't mutants. As a result, Quicksilver was in both X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), but portrayed by different actors, with different backstories, and different origins for their powers.

Also, note that she didn't actually revive Pietro, she (or someone else, Agnes?) stole him from another Universe. Perhaps Vision is the one exception because he's a synthezoid rather than properly alive, and even that takes an entire town of thousands of people (and possibly additional magical help, Agnes?) to resurrect.

@@ravenwraith1017 I don't know as I've never really read any comics. It's my understanding, though, that Scarlett Witch is one of the most powerful entities in the Marvel universe. The MCU is based on, but definitely not exactly the same as the comics, so, regardless of whether she's ever had the ability to pull people across the multiverse, it makes total sense to have given her that ability. That said, I'm not convinced that it _was_ Wanda that did it. I think she's had help in this endeavour of hers (and my money's on Agnes).

@Shawn Kuhn well the MCU did do that because at the time Disney didn't own the rights to fox yet but now that they do there have been rumors that Xmen and Deadpool will be a part of the MCU and I think this guy showing is kind of a hint at that. However in the MCU He may still not be their father but in the Fox universe he still is which is where this Quicksilver I'm assuming comes from which will lead us into Multiverse of madness and hopefully that will lead to the Spiderman multi else movie where we get all the different Spiderman converging.

Notice that when Wanda is talking about her brother in the middle of the episode, she doesn't say that he died years ago, but that he was very far away. I think she is very much aware of the multiverse and this alternate version of Pietro. Also, notice that the perimeter breach alarm goes off at the S.W.O.R.D. monitoring station when he appears, which would suggest that Wanda didn't conjure him up but that he arrived from outside somehow.

This entire show is based on one of the comic arcs where Wanda went legitimately insane. She didn't just rewrite existence for a town, she did it for the whole universe. When people finally started waking up and confronted her about her children not being real, she snapped. She whispered the words "no more mutants" and stripped the powers from almost all mutants across the MULTIVERSE. She is unquestionably the most powerful avenger. She is what's referred to as a "reality warper" in the comics world. She can rewrite reality, similar to what the reality stone did from the infinity gauntlet - except she doesn't need the stone. The guy at the end was the Fox version of Quicksilver (her brother) from the X-Men films. She either created him from nothing or yanked him from across the multiverse into the MCU. Agnes is likely a stand-in for Agatha Harkness - she's a witch that mentored Scarlet Witch for a time and helped her learn about her powers.

The pietro is from the x-men movies that were during the 80's. So it makes sense for this "version" of quicksilver to knock on the door, could be that the normal quicksilver makes a cameo when/if the series reaches currrent time in westview.

I guess we'll have to see his intentions with her in the next episode, but I get the feeling someone is using a version of him (the X-Men multiverse) to get something from Wanda. The only person who has suffered as much as Wanda in the MCU is Thor. The only thing that he has lost that Wanda did was the love of his life, but in exchange he lost most of he friend and more than half of his people, twice so I think that more than make up for it.

To only echo what I’m sure so many have commented on, the guy you saw play Pietro is Evan Peters, he played him as Quicksilver; but as that character featured in X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse, and in X-Men: Dark Phoenix. But I spotted a recent promo where Aaron-Taylor Johnson, the actor who played Pietro in Avengers: Age of Ultron, will appear in one of the upcoming episodes of the show.

Actually, Lagos doesn't refer to Westview but to the city of Lagos from the Civil War movie. Where Wanda unintentionally threw a bomb into a building full of innocent people, killing them all. Hence the commercial "Lagos, when you make a mess you didn't mean to.".

Awesome new setup!! Dig the Star Wars posters especially! For me the most intense part was that funny computer scene devolving into a horror show for Norm 😫. Everyone already mentioned that the recasted brother is the X-Men actor for Quicksilver, and the Lagos paper towel thing was in reference to Wanda's Lagos mishap in Age of Ultron, but I thought those were both really nice additions to the episode! Excited for the Vary content :P

Did Norm name Wanda when he was saying she's in his head? Agnes in this episode is especially and increasingly suspect, and the other episode with the interaction between her and Herb. (We even saw her from Herb's POV and not Vision's.) Each episode seems to ask more questions after each one it answers.

We saw the mailman in episode 2. You're right, that's not Pietro. But that actor did play "Quicksilver" in a couple of the X-Men movies. A lot of fans are very excited about the potential cross-over. However, neither had that thick New Yawk accent, so I'm thinking it was just some stunt casting. Wanda needed him to be alive, because she told her sons he was, so then the Hex made someone else into him and had him show up.

That was the Pietro from the X-Men universe. Pietro and Wanda are Magnetos children from X-Men. When Disney bought Fox it allowed Marvels X-Men, Fanatic 4, and others to now join the Marvel Universe.

Evan Peters played Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver in the Fox X-Men movies. Now that Disney owns Fox, they can use him as the new Pietro (so yes, he was recast). Btw, he's speaking with a New Jersey accent because that's where the show takes place, and it was a common trope in older TV shows that the uncle from another town has a different accent.

The new pietro is actually a pietro from a different universe, he is actually from the (Xmen Movies) like Dark Phoenix and Apocalypse. It's therefore making it clear, XMen has been brought to this new universe.
