Emma, welcome back to Iraq, unfortunately this video is misleading and the museum has the right to ask for high fees to prevent videography. I believe it’s a global policy so museums around the world can make some revenue to assist maintaining the facility. The staff was so kind and they were shy to stop the video recording.
@WanderingEmma2 жыл бұрын
Thank you , I’m not sure why it’s misleading? I just showed a fraction of what is actually there …. I don’t usually even go to museums lol… I just went to show others some of what they can see if they come to iraq , like my other Videos, just trying to encourage people to come here , the woman at the museum knew that and told me to film anyway , she knew who I was , and my reasons …if I was making a BBC documentary then of course they charge $$ but with everyone taking videos on their phones while I was being followed for asking to make videos , when everyone on their phones weren’t being followed , because they didn’t ask … 🤷♀️ no more museums for me … 🥴
@moataza1512 жыл бұрын
@@WanderingEmma Emma, sorry if my comment is a bit harsh, again When I saw the video for the first time I thought they might asked for a bribe? But then figured it’s just a fee. I really enjoy your videos and I am so happy to see foreigners come to Iraq and show the bright side of the country. I have been out of Iraq since 2013 and when I left things were in chaos, but things seem to getting better now thanks to you showing that.

I could understand that , but they allowed people to use their phones to take videos … that didn’t ask … they didn’t hide the fact that they were taking videos …. My phone didn’t have enough charge in it , or I’d have just used my phone like everyone else was doing , openly too… I should never have even asked I guess … the woman that worked there told me I should go ahead and video , If it really was a security issue then nobody would be allowed to video at all … never mind paying the $400 fee … I’ve been to places like this in the past that do this for the $$ … it’s not a secret as to what’s in there … idk , but I wish I had just used my phone at this point like everyone else was doing 🤷♀️

The Iraq National Museum, also known as the National Museum of Iraq, is located in Baghdad, Iraq. It was founded in 1926 and contains a vast collection of artifacts and archaeological treasures from ancient Mesopotamia, including the Sumerian, Babylonian, and Assyrian civilizations. The museum was looted and heavily damaged during the Iraq War in 2003, but many of its most valuable pieces were later recovered. It has since been restored and reopened to the public, although some damage to the building and collections remains. The museum's collection includes pottery, sculpture, jewelry, and other artifacts dating back thousands of years. Some of the most famous pieces in the museum include the Warka Vase, the Victory Stele of Naram-Sin, and the Royal Game of Ur. The Iraq National Museum is an important cultural institution that showcases the rich history and heritage of Iraq. It serves as a symbol of the country's
