UPDATE: It seems that Apex has pushed back the release of their swaybar disconnects. I'm sure it won't be long though.

Wow, they've come a LONG way from the early prototype they teased before. All the extra complications were evidence for thorough testing and engineering. This is a difficult product to design. Respect to them for finishing this project!

Those are big money and quite an interesting install for sure. I'm gonna wait to get them and see how your long-term video goes and get some other upgrades in the meantime, but if they hold up over time, they seem like they will be a worthy investment. It definitetly seems like an improvement over the other disconnects you featured a while back.

Can you provide a long-term review as a video or just as a reply? I'd love to know how well they've been holding up for you and how much you like them? Your channel is great and I've learned so much from watching your content!

I installed the sway bar disconnects on my 2020 4Runner following the instructions to the letter and end up with no enough clearance from my ToyTec Aluma 2.0 coil overs. So now the sway bar is rubbing on the base of the coils. I tried to contact Apex Design in several occasions got nothing but crickets. Could never verify if this would work with a ToyTec lift. I’m gonna take this off, buy a new sway bar and go back to the stock configuration on the sway bar and links.

Looks like an awesome product. If this was around a year ago i would've tried it. I cut off my front sway bar and have been happy without it. I just wont let anyone drive my 4runner for their safety. I drive a semi for a living so the extra body roll doesn't bother me

I am pretty amped for this. Been running no front sway bar for over a year and have gotten over most issues with crafty spring, bump stop, driving, and shock tuning, but wife still has a hard time driving it. I'm sure answers will come in time, but I am wondering if these can be used with icon resevior Mounts, any spindle gusseting, and run without the air piston for those of us that can't weld.

Another great Toyota video! I never tried any of the other quick disconnects because they looked so janky. These look like they are going to function properly and last for a while. I’ll have to figure out something for my sway bar relocation adapter because it holds my shot reservoir. How far forward do have to move it? Again great video, thanks! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
@WanderlostOverland11 ай бұрын
It moves about as far forward as a standard relocation bracket BUT, to keep the proper geometry for the air cylinder the swaybar can't be lower than stock.

Any updates on how they’re holding up?
@chaoticgood393510 ай бұрын
I just received my set of these from APEX. Man, they look SOLID. I am curious what one would do in the unfortunate but very real scenario of busting a CV and having to change trailside with these quick links installed. It looks like the best thing would be to simply take it off the ball joint threads so the spindle can move enough out of the way to get the CV out. Hard to tell without the real deal in front of me. What do you think? Thanks!
@WanderlostOverland10 ай бұрын
When removing the CV axle we typically disconnect the spindle (knuckle) at the bottom and swing the entire assembly up and rearward.
@lookitsnick81646 ай бұрын
So they aren’t compatible with the total chaos spindle gussets that have the sway bar mounts?
@lucasr56757 ай бұрын
How is the Kit holding out? Any issues or all is good.
@Tacoexplorer11 ай бұрын
Good video. Be careful with your 4Runner with the spindle gussets. Recently someone welded on those and his spindle snapped in half and he was stranded. Wasn't even off roading hard either. I guess welding on the cast iron compromises the strength of them. So added gussets does more harm than good.
@WanderlostOverland11 ай бұрын
Thanks for the heads up, but the Toyota spindles are forged steel.

I’ve been waiting a long time for these. Kinda disappointed how involved the install is. Wasn’t expecting all the cutting and welding just for disconnects. Question, what uca's are those? Asking because I just received my KWIKLYNX for my 3rd gen tacoma. Unfortunately I may have to swap out my UCAs, which I love (Icon Delta Joint) because the ball joint thread, which the KWIKLYNX connect to, have an M14 X 2.0 thread and the KWIKLYNX require an M14 X 1.5. So what uca are you using and pros/cons? Also, suggestions on how to resolve this if i want to keep my UCAs (does Apex offer an alternative?)?

I'm very interested in this, but I need to know if this will work for a 2nd Gen Tacoma or not. Apex Performance does not seem to be answering their phones nor returning calls. Why doesn’t anyone use a direct replacement quick disconnect sway bar end link like Jeeps do? Not like the ones you used to have that stayed connected and slide up and down on it, but one that actually disconnects and just stow the sway bar up? Just doesn’t seem like rocket science to copy and it would prevent from doing so much modification to the factory components like in this video.

I don't know these seem just a bit overly complicated design, quite a bit of work just seems overly complicated just seems like to me overly designed none simplistic, and that riveting sway bar back on doesn't seem very secure, and the price $750 and you have to buy a tool special rivet gun and then you have to weld, I don't know it just seems overly over, I say hey ditch the sway bar I believe it rides just good enough on the road and you'll be happy off road so much better!!!!! There's got to be a simpler design out there and maybe something for like say 500 dollars for a base model install.

The clamp and better end links are clever, and probably valuable improvements. Everything else? What the hell is this overcomplicated nonsense? Did a bunch of marketers hire a machinist and a Moab native to just slap a bunch of SEMA ideas together?
@WanderlostOverland11 ай бұрын
It's engineering....
@Telamonster211 ай бұрын
@@WanderlostOverland I'm an engineer. I am also incredulous that there weren't cheaper and easier, albeit less flashy, ways to accomplish the same result. Those clamps are clever, for example - why didn't they use the clamps and end links as a substitute for the other kit that you ran for a while? Why the need for welding to heat treated frame rail to mount tensioning air pistons on heavily modified sway bars? Hell, if you're modifyind the sway bars and the frame, why not just cut the sway bar entirely and use an electro-mechanical clutch interface akin to what Jeep does?
