Terraria, but I can only use the Swords of the Zenith...

In this playthrough, we try to beat Terraria, and eventually craft the Zenith, while only using the swords included in the Zenith's crafting recipe. There's quite a few (18) but it's still a tiny fraction of the weapons in Terraria. This one was highly requested by several comments for a while, and I finally got around to trying it out, enjoy!

1:11 Light's Bane doesn't actually require combat, as you can mine the demonite ore you need to make it underground with a gold or better pickaxe. Demonite is actually quite plentiful in the corruption, so you can use bombs to get to it and mine it pretty easily. Granted, I would just use Starfury anyway, as it's much more versatile and less annoying to get.

I killed the queen bee 30+ times to get the trophy :P I just have terrible luck with those things, over 20 primes, over 30 bee queens, 15 flying dutchman, yet when I actually want to kill a boss for their items I get the trophy first like golem wich I got the trophy first try but took like 7 to get the sunstone, or the martian saucer wich I killed like 4 event's worth of to get the xenopopper but got 2 trophys and multiples of every other drop instead

@@quinnmcrae6737 i mean, Destroyer exists, just do it as the first Mech Boss, the Night's Edge will be enough for it, pair that with a Titanium/Adamantite armor and you can tank the destroyer quite easily, its charges are predictable and probes do pathetic damage (and its long, segmented body makes swords quite effective in dealing loads of damage).

@@dusklunistheumbreon not too much honestly, seeing that this is a normal difficulty playthrough, you can choose to fight The Destroyer first and just tank the probes with tier 3 hardmode ore armors while you hack and slash its body and dodge its charges (which isn't difficult), swords are especially effective if you bait it into charging upwards, that'll leave its long body completely defenseless and you can get some solid damage out of it.

this one is quite chill, the only real obstacles are Skeletron Prime and The Twins, every boss before that is easily tanked through and every boss after that is easy as you gain access to powerful projectile swords right after collecting all 3 mech souls.

on normal difficulty it's quite easy to tank a bunch of damage, so a sword's limited range isn't a big problem at all, the only bosses i can think of that will be a real nuisance for this challenge are The Twins and Skeletron Prime (especially The Twins with their high speed and tendency to stay farther away), after that you gain access to both True Swords with their projectiles and it's just smooth sailing through the rest of the game.

I have an idea for a challenge after you finish this one, so basically you have a main weapon and and for example 10 upgrades, and you start with a copper shortsword, you have to use that copper shortsword until you get another weapon you want, let's say a musket, so you smash an orb and get a musket, you can choose to use one of your 10 weapon upgrades and make the musket your main weapon, the lower amount of weapon upgrades the harder

Oh hey, you doing this playthrough, neat. I saw it a lot in the comments, people were wondering about it. Me, I'm enjoying a Revenge+Death+Eternity mode game now, makes it extremely "fun" haha. (Need to skip Golem of course thanks to Calamity Dungeon's drop that allows you to do that)

I have a proposal for a Terraria challenge: you may only use consumables! I This doesn’t only apply to weapons, so you’ll need bombs to mine. Use means that you click while holding it, so equipment isn’t limited.

3 nice ways for flying islands searching: First one is running on the ground and spamming arrows into the sky - when they stop falling - they stuck in the cloud. Second one is doable right in the beginning if you got lucky and found "water bolt magic book" at the entrance of a dungeon without killing a Skeletron. As it reflects from the surfaces, you just run on the ground and shoot it at 45 degrees, when you see water bolts return - there is a cloud. Third one is the fastest one - gravity potion. Especially as you can't use bows or magic in your playthrough. Usually it takes 1 or 2 gravity potion to locate all flying islands and if you're lucky enough to get these potions from chests in the beginning - that's the perfect way to spend them.

Yep, do keep this challenge up, should get fun in hardmode! Here's an idea too: ever considered doing challenges for overhaul mods like Calamity in the future? I'd watch an entire series of that in a heartbeat, just a thought.

Tip: Farm one of the mech bosses until you get excalibur. That way, only one mech needs to be done with pre hardmode weapon. You should do SP because low defense. You can use sharpening station and flask of ichor.
