Homemade Mango Preserves (Mango Jam)
This is an easy recipe. It is not too sweet and tastes much much better than a store-bought one. You can substitute mango with your favorite fruit.
Ingredients
4-5 ripe fresh mangoes (if using medium mangoes use 5 mangoes)
3/4 to 1 cup sugar (if the mangoes are not sweet use 1 cup sugar)
1/2 ts salt
Method
1. Peel mangoes and remove the seed and cut them into pieces.
2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add all of the ingredients, cook for 1 hour or until the liquid evaporated and mango softened. Stir often to prevent burning.
The color of mango should be darkened and the mixture is thickened.
3. Store in a glass jar and keep it in the fridge for up to 1 month.
4. If making a large batch, double or triple the recipe and store the preserves in sanitized jars and lids. You can keep it for a year at room temperature.

Hi there. I love watching your video making mango jam.. i would like ask if i need to cool down the said jam before placing it in the bottle? Thanks in advance.. more blessings..

You should fill up the bottle while it is hot. It will help create a vacuum seal when closing the lid. Thanks and God blessed!

Can i use this for cheesecake toppings? If yes, how is the lifespan?

It might be a little dry for cheesecake topping. This is good for spreading on bread as jam.

This mango preserve is a form of making jam. It is more chunky texture than jam. For jam making, we use only the fruit juice or puree to make it. In the USA we call chunky fruit jam as "Preserves". There is no preservative but sugar only.
