I have 3 of these power supplies and they're all junk. I was using them to test some MOSFETs and wanted to draw about 5A at 5V. All three supplies had about a 0.5V drop when the MOSFET was turned on. I was operating the IRF44Z at a 10% duty cycle, Vgs=10V, 1 ohm load resistor.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor! it may be useful for someone for their projects! Many thanks!

@@sjumpers Have to take back my comment. After thinking about it, I checked power lead resistance. It was higher than I expected, so I switched to some #10 leads I had made for high current testing. The voltage drop in the lead dropped to 0.2V, so the supplies are okay. I had already done a load test to make sure they could provide at least 6A at 30V.

@@dl32412 from someone who is familiar with these, I'm thinking about getting one, what is the difference between NPS306w and DPS305U power supplies?

@@ahmedtwahir 1A less current, 4-digit display, has earth ground terminal (and in the correct location), and has USB ports. If you use dual banana plugs, Wanptek used the correct spacing on NPS306W. As I recall, some Wanptek put earth ground between the + and - terminals. That's retarded because you can't use leads using dual banana plugs (e.g. Pomona #1330). If your power is 120VAC, don't forget to change the line voltage switch. It will probably ship with it set for 240VAC.
