I'm not one to go fast straight. Did a lot of that back in 2001 to 2007. I drive my Type R at the Dragon and Mtn rds.

Don’t worry too much about overheating man. Managing your IATs and trying to prevent your car from overheating in general isn’t always the same thing. Have a CTR in Arizona. Daily drove it for a few months. All through AZ summer. Traffic, random pulls, all that. Never had a single overheating issue. Granted I do have the PRL intercooler/charge pipe set up.

I have a 2019 CTR and I have an intercooler, DP, and I add 1 gallon of e85 because Cali gas is trash. I easily beat Camaro SS and Challengers. I think the "kids" forget about power to weight ratios.

How would you compare a stock and tune type r to your si with w1 turbo? Thinking of upgrading my turbo on my non-si cvt
@TheFK8Life2 жыл бұрын
Cvt cant handle the torque from stock turbo let alone upgraded turbo - need a 6speed swap to handle the power
@kidstarr1002 жыл бұрын
@@TheFK8Life can confirm, I have a 2018 Si and a guy a ran once on the highway with a 2019 cvt hatch said he was full bolt on tuned on phearable if I’m remembering right. I’m stock, and when we started from a 40 roll, his car made a loud ass noise and sounded like a treadmill when he tried going again. Long story short, he fucked up his cvt. I’m not sure how much power he was pushing, probably like 240+ . I wouldn’t recommend throwing any power at the cvt
@alexl.1022 жыл бұрын
@@kidstarr100 interesting cause im tuned on phearable also fbo stock turbo for 40k+ miles and its been holding up. Theres also a guy on yt whose fbo and upgraded turbo thats also been holding up. Maybe he brake boosted or did something wrong...

@@kidstarr100 Hondata tune for cvt is pretty low but designed to keep the cvt working - pretty sure it limits torque to around 240 -250wtq A basic e30 tune and downpipe will make 280whp/340wtq and blow a cvt to kingdom come
@kidstarr1002 жыл бұрын
@@alexl.102 yeah which is normally what you expect from someone who doesn’t drive like their racing all the time. You probably take great care of your setup, honestly I was surprised when it happened to that dude. He must’ve done something wrong or he’s been doing Like hard pulls under 3k rpm.

Guys its a TYPE-R its ment to have decent power but be a handling king not a drag race king. get an si and build that bitch up if you want high hp
@TheFK8Life2 жыл бұрын
Type Rs are already making 850whp Full drag builds are 1500whp+ so far from a drag car
