@Honest Person I'd never heard of it before. I just watched it at your mentioning it. My conclusion is there are some people so sick in the head they whine and moan about the environment, but use people for their own sick perversions. They've convinced themselves the world is their playground and they don't want the unwashed masses despoiling it for them. They have no root morality beyond what they want. If they could only infect themselves with their delusion, I'd pity them, but when they abuse children, manipulate markets and corrupt societies--the millstone is too kind a remedy (...speaking of the ocean). If I'm looking for additional nefarious undertones to her speech, it looks like she might be trying to advocate less government oversight of what happens out in remote island areas (because "the seas belong to all of us"), which would have facilitated trafficking.

Just what I thought... 101. She went back 50 years to let us know why she's a victim now. Guess what... black girls are not turned away from ballet class anymore! Because people DID change! But it's never enough. She's speaking like no one wants to help anyone who's different. Leftists require you change until there's no longer any discrepancy of thought. Identity politics. She lets you know who the victims are and that their only flaw is having trouble letting "unlikely allies" help them out. In 2020 this is an insult to Miss Annes memory and those like me who agree with her actions. "The fight for equity" will never be over because the definition of equity constantly changes. This insures the fight can go on as if no change has occurred at all. Disgraceful.

Other than her story about the discriminatory ballet studios, I don't hear anything new here. White allies are *not* unlikely. In fact, though it's hard to do demographics on protests, I get the feeling that more white people participated in George Floyd protests than black, by a lot. Also, this talk seems at odds with the message of so many other antiracist groups: "white allies, be quiet." Maybe both groups would agree on having white allies call out the ballet studios. But the issues that are being called racist today are not ballet studios rejecting blacks. (If a ballet place did that today, they would be prosecuted and publicized, and rightly so.)

After we elected a Black president? After Breonna Taylor and Elijah McClain were killed and their killers yet to face even a facsimile of accountability or justice? Your sentiments have been repeated throughout all of history by White men who insisted that marginalized people have had justice served already so we should shut up and be grateful for the scraps we have been given. It's naive, wishful thinking, and simply ignores the lived experiences of millions of people across the country. All because you are scared to look inward and face that the system you have been indoctrinated to accept is not as just as you would expect it to be; that the education you have been raised with may have been based on lies; that you may need to broaden your circles and experiences if you want to have the information to think more critically about what is happening in the world.

"Why don't men lead the charge for pay equity for women?" Just because there is an inequality does not necessarily mean there is unjust discrimination. Sorry, the gender pay gap has not been proven to be due to sexism. Men work longer hours, do more dangerous jobs, and are more aggressive negotiators for salary. Obviously there is some level of sexism, but it isn't clear at all to what degree. To just make a blanket statement implying people deserve pay equity just because they're women isn't very smart.

6:05 Wow. Surprised you used the right word. Such a shame that you tried to rush over it though. "Pay equity for women". Equity as opposed to equality. Because you already know we have equal chances. Women just make poor earning potential choices because they value other things more on average. And that's their right, is it not? Who are you to demand that women are only allowed to do certain jobs? Sounds pretty anti women.

You have to watch out for that "equity" word - Lately it is used to suggest equality of outcome. That is not it's actual meaning, but that is how it is often used. Also, it's funny how you don't hear about anyone complaining that there isn't equal gender representation in dangerous jobs....

@@cla99009 Equity does mean equality of outcome, which is what most of these people are pushing for under the cloak of equality. Because most people actually really enjoy equality. But these people want equity. And one of them finally said it. Not fast enough to let it slide by though.

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
