This is insane! I’ve been watching jasmine for at least 5 years now and I’m so proud of her. I think she mentioned she felt awkward and even cringey but it’s not that at all. So so impressed.

so, SO proud of jasmine!!! her talk really spoke to me. i found her channel 3 years ago through the big sis chat videos, searching for a creator who wasn’t white (cause with the questions i had, they just wouldn’t get it). its been so comforting having an older role model whos been in similar shoes; i feel like i’ve grown alongside her over the years and i’m so happy she knows the impact she’s had on other people’s lives. much love for you jasmine, you absolutely killed it!!

jasmine is so well-spoken. i saw this video recommended to me and the fact that jasmine had a ted talk?! talk about dream collaboration. as a fellow asian american, these experiences were relatable but also so saddening that our upbringing had these experiences. but the fact that you have a community and support system, all the while having a creative outlet, is such a privilege that i’m happy you worked hard for. so proud of you jasmine!!

I wished she would’ve expanded on Michelle Yeoh being the first person who IDENTIFIES as Asian because there has been an asian woman who has won an award before, but could not reveal or mention their Asian identity in order to fit in to the white standard (which goes back to the algorithm and assimilating and representation in media). Great Ted talk though. 💕Jazzy
