Future and current Windows 11 is like buying an expensive Gym membership and finding out that half of the equipment doesn't work right or is broken.

No its like buying an expensive gym membership, then each machine advertises itself and gets bought without permission, as each machine also costs a fee to use after the subscription. And they can be broke or can work, you never know which when the machines auto buy without permission.

3 years ago I said we have 3 years to decide if you want to stick with M$ or switch to Linux. And now we have less than a year, people still deciding what to do and complain about it, i have no sympathy to them if this is their choice to stick with M$.

The day Windows become a defacto subscription that'll be the day I switch to Linux for real. I like Windows but there's a limit. Every year cable and streaming prices tends to rise more than generel inflation. Last year wasw the year I cancelled my cable subscription as prices got outrageous. Surprizingly (not really) many other did the same thing and service has been shut down. I didn't buy streaming from the company that ran the cables.

By the way. Switch to ARM only makes sense. x86 arcitecture is not very efficient for modern multicore CPUs - especially with many cores - and yes then there's power efficiency. Technology evolve and we can't stay on an arcitecture forever when we realize something else is better. Of course they will have a big fokus on making x86 emulation run perfectly. They have to if they want (especially large) corporations to move on. I bought an ARM based Surface Laptop this black friday. I needed a new computer as my old one were getting quite old even though I ran Win11 on them (unsupported but not a big deal for private use). So far it's really nice and runs smooth - even my x86 collection of portable apps. One thing that didn't work was a fingerprint reader as I want one to use with my desk setup as face recognition isn't optimal. That one didn't work as no ARM drivers for it. That's the only thing. So now on the hunt for another fingerprint reader - until then I live with pin code.

Yes, you are bringing up some valid points and pointing to what's Google is trying to do with its services. "Pay for what you need" Sounds good but there is a catch. I've a question, though. I use a Samsung tablet (Tab S9 FE+) for my mobile setup and an iPhone. Aren't these guys moving in the same direction? Right now, I'm using an old Samsung S6Lite to view and comment. I feel like they are going overboard in their quest for new revenue stream. Any thoughts?

I predict that Linux will finally move to 10% of the market moving above MAC. Many will see through MS 11 and move to Linux. It is far more secure than Windows 11.

What's the matter Microsoft? You realized that everyone was about to switch over to Linux? I still wish they'd fix their -10/10 24H2 build, that's about as optimized/efficient as a 1950s era SUV. 💀

People will say "No, thank you". Win 11 is on decline. I correct myself: MS Windows is on decline. They will destroy themselves. When a company goes out of ethics, it is themself who will done themself.

What's annoying the most: As a manufacturer with a bunch of machines, running old windows' you can't upgrade the OS! The machine developers use serveral years, inventing new mashines, but they can't follow up with the M$ pace pushing the next version of Windows, and taking the old one out of support. Yeah, you just keep using this old Windows... Then there is the IT-Department. They push you hardly to update hardware and OS! But you can't! They say, you have to! Because this are the politics. So you fight against 3 sides: 1. Windows having longer support for their products. 2. IT-Department to get them a better understanding, that this machine IS NOT a Desktop-Computer. 3. Challenge the manufacturer of the machine with software updates! Nr. 2 + 3 often co-exists. 20 year old hardware can break! And you have to renew it, because buying a new machine is not in the budget. But this old hardware doesen't exist anymore, and the machine manufacturers software won't run on newer hardware! SO you are screwed! Wrhen we buy new machines, we NOW allways buy the computer hardware for spare. It can rust in the shelve, but we are able to getting the production up again without standing still for months!

I've already switched to linux Mint. I don't like the route that Microsoft are going in and also into forcing you into having to sign in to an online account instead of keeping all of your files stored locally is a big turn off in my book. People seem to forget that if they have access to your file, then they can see everything that you are doing or saying. I don't know about you but I don't want any corporation reading any of my files, especially if there is sensitive or private things in them.

Microsoft had no choice but to "allow" people to install Windows 11 on to older P.C.'s. 1 reason is that computers running Windows 11 is in decline as people are reverting back to Windows 10. 2 Like Windows 7 Microsoft may be forced to extend Windows 10's life cycle. 3 Can you imagine the back lash Microsoft would have to endure if suddenly over 250 million P.C.'s landed in landfills around the world? I think Windows 12 will become the subscription based O.S. everybody is expecting. I don't believe it will be Windows 11 at all. Either way, if you're not reliant on Windows for any specific reason I think you need to seriously consider switching over to Linux. Install most distros has become very very easy. A few clicks, creating a username and password then a few more clicks. Plus there a tons of good videos on KZbin showing you how to do it. Obviously backing up your personal data to another device first. If you have some computer knowledge and know how to create a boot disk/usb thumb drive to can boot into a live environment and experiment with different distros without have it installed on your P.C. again plenty of get videos here to show you how.

This video is nothing but whining crap.. not true in the slightest... and NO ONE on the basic computing level is going to move to Linux. Linux is not even close to being ready for consumers. Mint and Fedora give a nice look, but you still need to do things for it... let alone the ability to actually install it on your device.
