Thank you for giving that info. It would be nice to see someone do a vid identifying which potatoes are determinate or not. It is so common for people to try hilling it up only to be disappointed when they don't have a spectacular crop or lots of damaged because the potatoes were left in too long as they continued hilling after they should have been harvested.

@@eduardochavacano Nah its not about genders. Its about the way the potatoes grow an indeterminate potato will keep growing like a vine taller and taller until it starts to die back, whereas a determinate potato grows to certain height and stops and has a more bushy form. The misnomer of all of this is that it makes no difference how deep you bury your potato if its determinate or indeterminate the potatoes only grow on one level. What burying deeper and or hilling does for you is to keep the potatoes from breaking the surface and turning green. Which makes the potatoes bad.

This isn’t true. Only indeterminate varieties of potatoes grow this way and the vast vast vast vast majority of potato variety’s especially those available to the general public are determinate and will only produce potatoes on or slightly above the level that the seed potato has been buried. It’s very rare for someone to have access to an indeterminate variety seed potato which makes hilling in your backyard garden useless and unnecessary.
